2021 Competition Wheel Selection
Hi Everyone,
I just ordered my 2021 X5MC in Grigio Telesto Metallic with the competition wheels and can still adjust to the brighter non-euro mesh look. Thoughts? The top image are the ones ordered. The interior is all black.

When I ordered mine I wanted the bottom wheels. I'm not a fan of the top ones. When I look at them all I see are triangles. They do show more of the blue brake calipers though.

I like the bottom ones much better. For some reason even tho the wheels are the same size the top comp wheels appear smaller and less substantial. Plus they are ugly as sh*t LOL

Top. They look much more impressive in person compared to the bottom.

I don’t love either wheel option, but I at least like the bottoms and have been happy with them over the last 6 months...not a fan of top, personally. They look smaller to me for some reason.

Congrats love that color man! I personally prefer the bottom (brighter) wheel. I'll be ordering a set of wheels for my X5M and am going with a silver/brushed finish.

Bottom, but to be honest, neither are my favorite.

Top is the best. The bottom ones are way to busy looking.
There is a reason why the top ones are standard with the competition model and they are NOT available as an option on the base X5M. Dealer near me has the X5MC in stock with the same color. So stick with what you already ordered. Looks great. Last edited by BobsM3Coupe; 12-30-2020 at 07:25 PM.. |

The lighting (daylight vs inside lighting pic) drastically changes the way these wheels reflect visually in the picture and doesn’t do justice for (818M’s) in the first pic. That said you have still made the correct choice. 818M’s mesh the best with the X5MC and are timeless.

I'd personally go find two cars with the wheels on them and check them out and decide which you prefer... |

bottom would be my first choice but recently the top version started to grow on me!
I would probably go with 808M anyway with non comp model as wheels going to be replaced anyway! Happy New 2021 Year!

I personally like the 818's look better. I will go with those then likely get a set of aftermarket 22" all around and put some snow tires on 818's.

Thank you all! I really appreciate the insights and thoughts. I agree they don’t photograph as well. In person, the mesh are quite impressive.
For some reason, the bottom ones remind me of the x5 50 models of years past. I will stick with the top as ordered and definitely post pictures once delivered, hopefully by March! Happy New Year to all. |

I concur, and they have that concavity that top ones don't.
