Welcome to the forum. Do you have at least the Premium package?

Yes this this correct! I drove one today that had the premium package when you put in a destination in the navigation, the AR does pop up in the dash. However, from doing more due diligence if you want to have the camera on the dash at all times even when you are driving without a destination in the navigation where it gives you the AR Option when are you are changing the screens on the dash for that you have to have the DAP. So the only difference if you do not have the DAP package is that you will not be able to have the camera on the dash at all times the AR camera only pops up every time a turn is coming up on the navigation.

I have the executive package.
I have an update : The Augmented reality does show up in my LCI on the cockpit screen. I just dont see the option to select in the main map menu. But it shows up on cockpit when you select the cockpit view to show the map. |

If I’m not mistaken there is a soft key for Augmented when in the map mode and you have entered a destination. I needed to enable it when I was using it. It is nice but noticed it can be confusing when coming up on a turn as the direction isn’t clear. I need to use it more to better understand it.

Use the bmw navigation to set destination / trip. Then you switch the content (the leftmost menu in the HUD UI configuration) and switch to “AR”.
When a turn is not upcoming, only the camera feed shows (no arrows etc). |

I have this feature on my '24, but I'm trying to figure out what use it is. Why would I want an image of the area outside of my front window when I am already looking out the front window?

Do you display the AR in front of you or on the navigation screen?
For some reason I find it easier to watch when it’s on the navigation screen and not in front of me |

I agree, I use it and like it shows where to turn with a real picture vs map when in unfamiliar areas.

I only use it on the navigation screen. the picture is bigger and not as distracting. A quick glace gives me the picture of where to turn. Plus, you have the map in the HUD.
