11/2022.60 Software Update
Car just notified me of 11/2022.60 update being available. MyBMW app doesn't think it is available though, still shows 07/2022.58 which is what is installed. Is this normal?

I don't recall how I did this last time, but do you have to be driving for it to load from your phone to car?
I have all 3 connections on - wifi, Bluetooth and apps |

The vehicle has to be on, so you might as well drive it somewhere you need to be while the s/w is uploaded. You don't have to, but you'd be wasting energy being on while that happens. Once it is uploaded, and you then stop, it will ask you if you want to start the update.

I’ve been waiting for my car to update for almost 2 months now, was told the update was available on February 25th and got a message the other day that it expires soon! Car hasn’t prompted to start it yet :-(

Have you tried charging the battery? The vehicle does NOT generally keep the battery at 100%, and depending on your driving, may never get high enough to accept a software update, similar to your phone which won't update unless the battery is above a certain level. Unlike an old alternator that is constantly trying to keep the battery at 100%, the one on your BMW considers anything above 70% or so okay, and generally only turns it on when braking or decelerating, or, if it gets below 70%.

Thanks for the replies. I tried recommendations here (sending commands, charging to full, log out/in, and so on), but it's still the same: car thinks there's an update *via* MyBMW app (it doesn't have any option to do OTA, just says via MyBMW), but then MyBMW doesn't show any update available.
I haven't realized that this issue was wide spread though. |

I have the same issue. Car is running 2022.58 and noticeably me 2002.60 is available. However, bmw app thinks 2002.58 is the latest and won’t download anything. I have since updated apps, removed and and reinstalled, still the same thing. It seems the app is definitely the one having issue. But since I don’t have any issue with the car, this doesn’t bother me as much. Maybe a lot more patience os needed for bmw to rectify their app.

Same issue here. Are folks reporting this issue in this thread all on the same phone OS perhaps? I'm on Android, as is my wife, so I can't test to see if it's working fine on iOS or not.

Just to clarify, the s/w update does NOT get uploaded OTA directly anymore (except for things like map updates in the USA)...you must first use the app to download the data, then connect the phone to the vehicle (both BT and WiFi), and then the s/w is uploaded to the vehicle. After that, when conditions are met, when you shut down, it will offer the option to start the upgrade in the vehicle.
In the app, if it shows there's an update available, if you follow the links, it will offer you the opportunity to download it to the phone. You can set that so it will only do it over WiFi, but if that's not checked in the setup, it will do it over its cellular connection. It's just under 500M, so could take awhile to move the file the two times, first into your phone, then into the vehicle. |

I'm running iOS...I got the notice on both the X5 and my phone yesterday that a software update was available...I've downloaded it to my phone, but haven't been in the vehicle since...thought I might get to it today, but not so far! The last update went without issues, but the prior one, never happened. The dealer looked, found some errors in my X5, fixed those, and loaded it for me under warranty...hopefully, this one will work fine like the last one did. I don't need to drive it much, so it may take a couple of days before it happens (or not!).

For those with s/w earlier than 07/2022, there's a SIB that calls for the dealers to update the s/w. That happened on mine, and when they looked at it, they found several errors that were preventing the vehicle from even looking.
It appears that first, the vehicle must be tagged for an update, then, that status is passed to the app where you then must download it. After downloading, you then connect to the vehicle, and it should get offloaded to it. Once it's IN the vehicle, when all of the other conditions are met, it will offer you to start the update. That's where mine is now...it can take a while to upload to the vehicle as that data connection isn't very fast. I just haven't been in it on a long enough trip to get the full thing transferred. If I don't go out soon, I have to go somewhere next Wednesday, that trip should offer plenty of time for it to do its thing. |

I was alerted and downloaded the update 3 weeks ago. I’ve drove to work several times in horrific NYC traffic and it has yet to upload in my car. Very frustrating. 2020 X5 and iOS. Next week get new car so it will be next owner’s problem.

I downloaded the .60 update a couple of days ago and uploaded it to my 45e yesterday. It took me a while to find the wifi address in the vehicle but once I had that it did the upload (took a while) and then activated it on the next drive.

My upgrade to .60 was pretty effortless and I followed the prompts from the 45e and from the app on my iPhone 14. Final install was when I got home, when I shut the vehicle down, the onscreen in the vehicle prompted me to choose the final install and that the vehicle would not be available to use for approximately 20 minutes. Notified by the app on my phone when it was finished. Had to reset the charging schedule.

The app is saying the vehicle needs to be parked outdoors with a clear view to the sky. Is this for the download AND the install? My X5 says the download is ready to be installed so I've been parking in my garage, locked and on a battery maintainer. Should I park it outdoors? So frustrating!
