YMMV. Some have reported it being wiped, but for me it wasn't wiped with the 11/22 or 07/22 update.

I was offered the .60 update this week. Downloaded to the app, transferred to the car and updated in the car. 2023 X5 45e.

Stupid question: where do you see the software version in iDrive? I looked through every menu I could and didn't find it. MyBMW apps says I'm on .60 though.

It does seem like I lost all BimmerCode coding. I also lost Automatic Speed Limit Assistant (to have option to have adaptive cruise speed auto-set) which was done by Steve Ma of CodeMyBimmer. I guess I will have to pay Steve to get that back.

I have not checked anti-dazzle, which was also coded by Steve. Is there a way to check if anti-dazzle is available without driving at night in traffic? I don't drive a lot at night, especially this time of year.

The only other non-BimmerCode coding done by Steve that I lost is Remove Speedlock for Mobile Office (full text message view while driving). But I may be able to re-enable that one with BimmerCode expert mode.

Go to Car -> Settings -> General Settings -> Remote Software Upgrade and it will show what version you have.

I gave up trying to download.
So happens 2023 X5e was dur for 1st service.
Dealership updated the the software keeping the car overnight.
Now done.

Taking the car back for work to look into an error code they discovered about a camera heater, I'll ask my SA about it...

Has anyone had an issue with their iDrive system crashing and rebooting (while driving) since the latest update?
I just took a 3.5hr road trip where I was using the Audible app in CarPlay to listen to a book for the whole drive, and towards the end of the trip the system crashed and rebooted twice. Maybe 20 minutes apart between the first & second crash.
This is the first time I’ve have this crashing issue (‘22 X5 M50i w/~27,000 mi.), although I have had the system freeze up in CarPlay once or twice where I forced a hard reboot to fix.
Wondering if it’s a new bug, or maybe a new conflict with some of the basic coding changes I make in BimmerCode??
Anyone else seen this?

You're not alone! Mine's been that way for over 2-weeks...the app shows connected to BT, Wi-Fi, Apps, but also says to connect your phone to the vehicle...have an appointment for it to be looked at, if it doesn't decide to work on its own before then. So far, I'm 2 for 2 where it worked or didn't since I bought mine.

I should try getting the dealer to install 03/2023 when I take mine in for service in the next month or two.

My only major complaint about this upgrade is my HUD position seems to not be setting correctly. I have to hold the 1 button to get it to position correctly after starting up the car. Happens more with the Digital Key, but it happens sometimes with the regular key as well.

HUD setup is saved with your profile, so you may need to review that, especially if you use more than one method to access the vehicle.

As new modules that in theory perform the same function get into the production line, even the same 'feature' may be using a different module. I'm not defending BMW...IMHO, they should be much more open on how this works than they are, which is a good portion of the issue with customers. THere are still chip shortages, so things keep changing to try to keep the production lines going.

I have a question about this. I have been stuck on 07/2021, which my original dealer had to manually install for me. My BMW gets stuck at "preparations are completed, you will be notified when this update can be installed." I've gotten a notification to install once in two years, and it failed. I've parked many places over the last few years, many with a clear sky. I asked my new dealer (I moved) what to do and the update guy was conveniently out of town. I want to fix this myself. What should I do?

You might try to hook up a battery charger until it says the battery is full and see if that helps. Won't hurt, and may be the last hurdle before you've met all of the prerequisite requirements to actually start the upgrade. BMW uses a clutch on the alternator to charge battery and only tries to charge it up to about 70%...it may need to be a bit more full before it will trigger an update (similar to many phones and other devices).

My 2019 had been on 07/2022.45 when, several weeks ago after receiving an 'upgrade available' notice from the My BMW app, I downloaded 07/2022.60 to the vehicle via my phone. iDrive confirmed the download of the upgrade, stating I would be notified when ready to install. Stayed this way for several weeks and in a call to BMW Genius was advised to take it to the dealer. Only functional issues present in the vehicle were errors in recalling memorized seat/mirror positions (this had started after an earlier upgrade).

Prior to installing the latest upgrade, 03/2023.60, iDrive status of conditions required for the install were reviewed revealed the apparent cause of the automatic install failing to have proceeded, system indcating the hazard light was activated, which it was not. Service manager had no explanation why this would be and proceeded with the upgrade install.

Haven't determined yet if the seat/mirror position recall issue has been resolved, but, I did notice on the drive home that steering feel was improved, or I should say, it has returned to what it was after having been 'off' for some time.

Other than making sure the battery is fully charged there is nothing that can be done to force it to install. This sucks. I’ve been on 07/2021 for years because of this. Preparations are complete but the update won’t install.

The main problem I had when I updated to 07/2021 is the the USB disconnects while it’s playing iPhone audio with even the smallest fiddling. Charging the phone is continuous, but a small touch of the phone and the audio disconnects and the car has a seizure and switches to Bluetooth to USB back and forth. I’ve tried multiple lighting cables and multiple iPhones, so I know it’s not a phone or cable issue. It also has the same behavior whether I use the USB-A port in the cup holder area or the USB-C port in the center console. I’ve been using CarPlay, but it does sound better via BMW USB and I’d like it to work without glitching out. Again, it all started when I updated to 07/2021 two years ago. For reference, I have the Bower and Wilkens speakers.
