I always liked the X6. So as the minority, trust me when I say that rear end is awful. The front and side look great but... yeah I don't know it's almost like bmw is assigning 2 different people. One to design the front and one for the back and then a third fella has to somehow make their two totally different designs work together

No and it never will. The interior is fine but the exterior of the X6 has always been hideous.

At least the regular X6 M has chrome grilles which I appreciate!

Its all about the ///Money. Think about it this way. They don't sell in mainstream numbers, I believe C/D quoted 10,000 X6's a year, but, I would think they make more money on each X6 than X5, as they likely share similar development/manufacturing costs, but the X6 has a larger price than an equivalent X5. I could be wrong, but that's my theory.

That's what I thought when I first heard about the car back in 2007 (concept).
Since I admired Chris Bangle while everyone was bashing him, I knew the design will be classic.
Fast forward to 2019, yes the first generation X6 is still the best looking SUV coupe.
It was also an important model because this niche segment of "SUV coupe" is what X6 started it all.

The new X6 M seems to be a love it or leave it body style. Personally I love it. It started growing on me when I first saw it testing on the roads where I live. I saw the quad pipes and followed it around like a groupie.

More sports appeal? Just guessing, I myself have compression issues when it comes to an SUV/SAV or whatever posing as sports cars, maybe it's me

Same with the grill as time passes. Lol
grill is fine, I don't mine the X6 but my wife calls it a post op trans vehicle
Haha, lately I am thinking to switch to M8 GC.

To me the best looking BMW in years.
Let me know your final decision as I'm in the same boat between X6 M50i and M850i GC, I changed my decision like 10 times

Still as ugly as when it debuted in 2008. Furthermore, it is a solution in search of a problem.

I think I'd go for the X5M myself if I was looking for something like this, the whole design seems to fit better. I'm not so keen on the rear end of this X6.

Tell me about it. X6M is more practical for me because of kids but I am willing to suck it up and get M8 GC

Because it's not as practical yet some still find it appealing..... ? Just a guess...

While you may indeed lack understanding... Clearly enough Sales still occurred to make a THIRD generation...

X6 Gen -1 2008-2014
X6 Gen -2 2015-2019
X6 Gen -3 2020- ?

one would think by now... you would have ummmm… gained an understanding...

I don't think you have the correct mental approach there...

If the X6M is a solution in search of a problem... then the problem was FOUND. Again.. this is GEN 3...

+1 ... great minds.... even if it sells poorly... the X6 helps offset the development costs of the X5

FULL DISCLAIMER: yes.. I also think the X6 and X4 do not look as good as the X5 and X3 respectively... but hate doesn't feed denial.
