the perfect phone holder for X5 !
I've been looking for this holder for three years and now I'm using it and totally recommend it for its features and practicality! one hand operation, gravity closing and opening perfect positioning on the edges of the vent, vent remains 100% usable and unobstructed close to the eyesight, adjustable position/ angle More details here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086JN3HM5...t_details&th=1 |

Mine is mounted in my jacket pocket, which depending on the day may and what's going on, will either be hanging on the hook, or unceremoniously tossed into the back seat.
I should have probably prefaced that by saying this isn't a callout. Having said that; what are you folks doing with your phone that you need to have it stuck to the dash? Between android auto, Bluetooth, the built-in nav and other onboard features, I don't know what I would do with the phone. Mine just sits in its pocket mount, unneeded. I feel like I might be missing out on some cool thing I can do with my phone that I've not yet figured out. |

my son's in track, and there's constant info from the coaches and between parents. the app we use isn't supported in the CarPlay GUI. numerous foody apps aren't supported either. ordering via mobile is convenient and makes for efficient pick ups so we get to our destination quicker. i honestly believe "using CarPlay" isn't necessarily safer either as some may insinuate, especially if interfacing with the GUI on the control display. CarPlay is safest when interacting with supported apps verbally. if you're having to use your fingers on the control display or use the iDrive controller to navigate within apps, how is that any different than using a mounted phone? **note that i do all the above mostly when i'm at a stop, not while driving, and mind you it isn’t constant. it’s just enough where leaving my phone in the console or in my bag or in my pocket just don’t work for my use case preference/needs/use case |
