2024 BMW X6 LCI without Gesture Control

Compared with Canada and US BMW X6 LCI.
I could not find the Gesture Control on my car and the web site of Canada's BMW.

Is't for all LCI version?

I wouldn't worry about gesture control, turned off in my car as a waste of time.

I actually just like twirling my finger to raise or lower the volume fast. And mute/unmute works well too.

The knob take 2 or 3 turns to get it where you want and you have to look down to locate it as well.

The rest of the other gestures, you're right, its a waste. wish you could program some gestures as well. (like mute your wife)

Absolute gimmick of a feature and I wish I could save money and not have this "option"

Easier to press the + / - on steering wheel.

I hear you but, can you press and hold or is it multiple presses to get where you want? What about mute?

I'm so used to a quick twirl and it does work very well imo, plus my friends are impressed

You can press and hold to adjust the volume. I’m not sure there’s any quick button to mute.

It's not an optional on Canada BMW official website. Not default, no optional and no package included.

I thought it was just standard issue down here, I guess not above the border.

Picked up our 2024 X6 last week in Toronto, product genius said gesture control is not offered in our market. Same for traffic light, sign recognition, we only get speed limit sign recognition.

No worries we turned it off in ours. It's very gimmicky and doesn't work that well. Maybe a 75% success rate when you want it to work, and a 25% "false positive" rate of it taking some action when you were doing something else. Was an interesting feature at first, but quickly became annoying and just turned it off.

I use it for mute/unmute and volume control. Also to advance to the next track when streaming music. Works flawlessly every time. ✌️

I actually use mine (pre-LCI) quite often to turn the monitor off, which is particularly nice at night.

Did think it was gimmicky at first, but do like turning the screen off. I’m in a brand new X1 loaner currently and trying to figure out the new I drive and have not been able to find feature control.
