Updating electronic service book

Had my first oil service today on the G05 at Indy BMW specialist. Much cheaper than main dealer. Quote from main dealer was £419 Indy quote was £249 and that included BMW oem filters. Final bill was £160 as they decided micro filter set didn't need changing as it was still very clean and only 10 months old. They suggested changing it at next service when car will be about 20 months old.

They updated the bmw after sales online database with service history but didn't download the new service history to the idrive. They just told me it will sync via telematics but I'm 99.99% sure this is rubbish and I'll need to take it back to have it written to the idrive as I've had to do this with my 3 series when main dealer forgot to update idrive.

Anyone got experience of this?
