Ordered X5 45e yesterday (GTA) but could only get March allocation. A week ago my dealer said February was possible but their allocations were pushed back one month so it is what it is.
X5 45e Carbon black Merino extended coffee Poplar grain trim M Sport package Enhanced package +glass application + tow hitch + driver assistance + leather dash + massage seats + 21" RFT Does anyone know how I can track the order like in the US? I asked my sales guy and he said they don't give out production numbers for tracking like in the US, he'll just let me know when production starts and stops. Is that true or should I be asking for something from the dealer specifically? |

I just have an excellent sales rep. at a very large GTA dealership. He has brought me up to date several times including VIN and production number.
I couldn’t get my local dealership to order the options I wanted and they were trying to charge me a 5% premium. I have tried the MyGarage method used in the US but it won’t work in outside the US unfortunately. |

Back in 2020 when I ordered mine, the order was placed in January and I picked up the car at the end of July. Later VIN decoder as Production date: 2020-06-27. Keep in mind that, Spartanburg was shut for a few month at that time due to Covid.

When I ordered in November (near the end) they told me unlikely to get Dec production and likely January - which ended up being true. Based on timelines people post on here I would suspect it should be ready 4-5wks after production starts

Quick update. My predicted delivery moved to first week in Feb. Last week I tried my VIN in the Drivers Guide App. and magically I had a manual with correct colour picture and all. I’m guessing this occurs after production so something is happening. At least I’ve got lots of reading material.
Anyone else moving forward? |

Ordered X5 45e in two weeks ago. Upgraded only to Vernasca Leather and 20" 738 Wheels. Very helpful sales guy said simplicity is the key to quicker delivery; expected delivery date of April 30. No embargoes on touch screen at this time.

All my tracking to date has been from my sales rep. The first info. I've been able to get online was last week when I entered my VIN into the 'Driver's Guide' App. A picture of my vehicle popped up in the correct colour and with the right wheels. The content is an online manual for the vehicle which purports to address only the options on your specific unit. I'm guessing it appears when production is completed. By reading/watching the manual you can pretty well tell what options are missing and get a good start on understanding the vehicle.
Our US brethren can access the whole production cycle information by inserting their production number in the My Garage section of the 'My BMW' App from BMWUSA. In Canada the access to this app. requires physical interaction with the vehicle. Sales rep just told me delivery to dealer is Scheduled for Feb.2 |

Me too.
Other things not to be found on mine include wireless charger, HK sound, garage door controls and fog lights. I use the last 2 extensively on my current X5 so not great. The fogs may be covered by the new LED headlights. On the positive side, they specifically said no air suspension but it shows up included! Other features which are discussed as deletions in this forum but which are included are soft close doors, remote start, touch screen, ventilated seats, comfort seats, tow package and adaptive drive mode. All remains to be confirmed on arrival but looking good. Stands to reason they will ride together as I'm sure a shipment to Toronto isn't that frequent. |

hopefully the protest doesn't delay the shipment - I think it goes by rail but not sure if that ends in USA and then by truck to TO or if rail carries to TO direct.
