Who did dashcam on their car?
What do you guys think? Is it a worthy investment? Seems like Blackvue 4k 2 channel (front and back) go for ~$500 + install.
And are you guys comfortable with some random dude taking interior parts off your car to hide the wires? I just did my own DIY dashcam with an old action cam. The image quality is bad and can't really tell license plate but good enough to argue with another dude if he/she claims that you cut off instead of him and etc. |

The dashcam from BMW is pretty bad from what I hear.
I've been running a Blackvue DR-650S 2 channel for about 2 years now and nothing but positive things to say! Easy to hardwire, clear as day footage both night/day, and impact alerts etc. I think Blackvue have since released a 750S but the 650S is more than adequate and you may save some $ |

Thinkware F800 Pro
It's definitely a good investment. If an accident happens it's good to have a witness and video is really helpful, keeping track of the details. I installed the the Thinkware F800 Pro along with a cellink (external battery) to keep it powered for parking.
Image quality is really good especially at night, but looking at comparisons between cameras Blackvue DR900S Comparison Clips vs. DR750S, F800 Pro, RC500S, & A119 Pro. It seems like the DR750S was the best all around. Check here, I paid around $400 to have a audio/alarm, guy install it, better him than me as the panels are very tight in the X5. |
