fea2222,

Thank you for the link but it takes me to rear spoiler. I searched for rear diffuser on their site but i could not find it. White/Black Rear diffuser on your SAV looks very good. I am looking for all Black rear diffuser in same One piece set up. If you don't mind can you link me to rear diffuser? I am sure they sell them in Black as well. Thank you again.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to post this but I think there needs to be some additional perspective.

Consensus statement from the unwritten rule book of modding......

2020 G05 40i engine code - B58B30M1 335hp

2020 G01 X3 M40i engine code - B58B30O1 382hp

The G05 40i will never be an M40i, or anything with an M on it. Yes BMW plays musical badges with the random placement of M badges all over modern BMW vehicles, because the Marketing dept has gone ballistic with the M brand and created layers of M categories.

1. M-sport
2. M-performance
3. M
4. M comp
5. M CS

BUT............the right side of the trunk/hatch is sacred real estate. BMW has reserved the M badge for the right side of the trunk/hatch for those cars falling into category 2 through 5. Many purists would argue that category 2 M-performance vehicles shouldn't have the M badge on the right rear as that should be reserved for only true M cars. But certainly not for any car in the lineup in category 1.

Regardless of whether there is additional hp from an aftermarket piggyback tune, it's still just a B58B30M1 with a piggyback tune. Surprisingly, having a true M car in his garage, one would think he would better understand these rules of engagement and not place M badges where they simply don't belong. Of course these are just my opinion (and most BMW purists) and we are all free to mod our cars however we like, but there are already enough M badges on an M-sport G05 40i, let's not start a trend of additional fake badges as the G05 is an amazing vehicle without them.

Happy Modding everyone. Stay safe out there. And don't forget to wash your hands.

I actually have a flash tune. Which is much more agressive than a B58B30O1 motor stock. By your logic every modern bmw with a m designation badge is wrong except the actual m models. This is current bmw language now. I think your overthinking this bigtime. It's literally no different than a m40i X3 or m50ix5.

No issues. Does fine on track. Did a 10 hours drive to Toronto and back last fall no problem.

Meet Bruno!

Omaha’s newest X5 M Sport. I did IND carbon fiber mirror caps (from Autotechnik), CF rotating/floating wheel center caps, CF roundel emblems, gloss black X5 emblem, matching painted front and rear reflectors, window tint, protective film on front and mirrors, and 12mm front/17mm wheel spacers. Now just waiting on a good tune to be available soon!

Sorry for the confusion.

Here in the Western United States, fourteener or 14er is a nickname for any mountain peak that is 14,000 feet in elevation or higher. For some climbers, its a goal to climb as many fourteeners as they can. By your name, I thought you had climbed 9 of them.

Learn something new every day!

Actually "Ninefourteener" has been my online handle since..... maybe 2003?? I've used it on about 1000 different car forums and social media sites.

It refers to my obsession with the 1970-1976 Porsche 914. It's my favorite car in the history of.... cars..... ever. I've had a couple, currently don't... but will again when I rotate back to the US.

Car looks great! Did you PPF the carbon fiber roundel? It looks like you either PPF'ed it or left the protective packing film on it. If you took it off, the roundel would really POP, in my opinion. It looks a little muted right now.

I agree. You can put the smaller M badge all over your car to your hearts content, for all I care. That's your prerogative. However, I think it's chintzy when you put the M designation before the engine trim. At that point you're trying to advertise that you have a higher trim then what you paid for, making it seem that your car is more expensive then it really is. I know it sounds very vain, but if it wasn't for vanity, then why do it at all. BMW does use the M designation on the fenders, etc pretty willy nilly, but they do not do that when they use it for the engine trims. They keep those sacred.

In my eyes, and this is purely my opinion, I drive an X5 <space> M50i. I don't drive an X5M <space> 50i. I would never take the 50i off the back of my car to make it seem like I drive an X5M. Similar to why I would never wear a fake luxury watch, etc. But that is just me.
