How long from order to delivery?

Volvo won't extend my lease unless I get another volvo and show proof of an order.
Need a third row and I assume none are on dealer lots.

How long would it take from order to delivery to dealer in NY? I guess
3 weeks won't cut it. (I would spec Msport 40 with third row)

Thanks!

It took 3 weeks from order to delivery to NJ. I am assuming the same for NY.

Depends on what your build week is. For me it was 12 weeks give or take

I ordered on 1/12, build is 1/29, ready for transport 2/5. Figure about 4w to be safe.

Wow almost 2 months.
I got my production number 1/23, and dealer told me 2-3 weeks.
They're usually wrong about everything so I guess I should be looking more like mid March for mine.

I ordered my 40i on 12/29/18. It went into production on 1/2/19 and it was at my dealership on 1/16/19. I picked it up on 1/19/19.

I thought the timeline was more than reasonable.

Has everything to do with the dealer's allocation. You could order today and have it go into production the same week or not for a month. Have an open discussion with a few dealer's to see what their allocations look like.

My sales manager mentioned that but I didn't ask why. How does their allocation affect builds? Do they get so many units allocated per period and your build is part of that total?

After an order on Jan. 2 I got notice that it's started production last Saturday.

Believe each dealer has build week slots reserved. If earlier are taken then you get later ones, and your build is delayed.

These build times seem almost too good to be true. I guess I'm used to ordering a BMW that is built in Germany. All of my previous orders, about 10, have taken 8-12 weeks with at least one week of transit time and then another week at the VPC. Are cars released from the assembly plant to a carrier and then delivered direct to the selling dealer? No intermediate stop at a VPC? Thanks.

It depends on the spec. My order went in over 2 weeks ago, but is currently scheduled for production week 14!!

I have laserlights and 3rd row on a 30d MSport.

I thought 3rd row orders were delayed until April.

I ordered mine on January 11th and it went immediately into "Scheduled for Production". On January 23rd it entered "Production Begins". Dealer said its been taking about 2 weeks from when it enters that status to when the consumer can take delivery (Dealership in Alexandria, VA). BMW Genius says that the estimated date that it will be finished is February 5th. So for me it should be 4-5 weeks, which feels like eons (but in reality is actually pretty quick) when you wanted immediate gratification on January 11th.

My order (50i with B&W among other options) went in on 12/20. Production begins last week - 1/23 or so. My guess is I'll be lucky to take delivery before the end of February.

Completely depends on dealers allocation. If they have a custom build allocation for the model you want that is ready to go into production, then you could have in 3-4 wks depending on location/delivery time. In our case we wanted a 50i m sport. Our dealer took a long time to get an allocation. Once they secured an allocation, we had our vehicle in 3 wks. Sorry this doesn't answer your question - but too many factors involved to answer definitively.

16 days since we got a VIN and the duty "Today's the day..." message.

I've got mixed feelings on this - more of a delay hopefully means some bugs will have been worked out but am also getting a little impatient. Whatever, at least I get to drive the Lexus a while longer and retain the high trade value as time goes by.

Wife made a comment about our Lexus as we drove into the garage after our Sunday country drive - "I'm sure gonna miss that car".

It's been a great car in all respects. Sure we'll love the X5 though.

My 40i was ordered on Jan 25. By the 28th I had a VIN and it was in the production queue. BMW Customer Service says it will be built on Feb.7. Dealer is BMW of Catonsville MD. Since this is my first US built BMW the delivery date will probably be a third of what I am used to.
