I ordered 2 weeks ago and status changed today to production begins. Not in a rush but does anyone have any idea when the timeframe is of getting the car?

Where abouts are you? Ask your dealer or BMW Genius for production status code. 5100 to 5500 is done in two days, first day body shop and paint shop then the following day it goes down the production line in just over an hour. Mine departed plant on the following day.

I'm from New York but ordered in New Jersey. My salesman had told me 3-6 weeks because I ordered the piano trim. Like I mentioned before I don't mind the wait just curious if he is accurate because it's been 2 weeks already.

I ordered through a dealer in NJ on Feb 21 and got the car March 14 so around 3-4 weeks. Got VIN number a day after I was at dealer to order so I think they had immediate available allocation

Hi everybody,

I ordered my M50d at the end of December with an estimated delivery date at the end of March. Now the dealer tells me that due to unexpected delays my new delivery date will be the second half of September. After reading the delivery forecasts for forum users I am really surprised and disappointed. Could it depend on the model? Maybe M50d has some unavailability of some components or it can be a problem of the European market (Italian in my case ...)
I also had to extend the current rental but in two months I will be forced to return the car and the best proposal made by the dealer was an X3 in pre-assignment for $ 45 / day...

Here in the Washington DC Metro area, dealers were in the 3-6 week range as well. They said they've had some come as quickly as 2.
