There was a previous thread where some were inquiring about the travel & comfort system attachment. I grabbed the part code and had my dealership throw it into the deal which they did.

Just drove 3 hrs home today from picking up the vehicle, it's a 40i M Sport with pretty much all of the options. I opted for the 21" wheels cause I thought they looked better.

Love the car and all the cool stuff it comes equipped with.

Here's a few pics. Enjoy.

Can you post a pic of the folding tray installed in your car?

I love it. Would love to see pics of it installed in your car, both in the up and down positions.

Thanks!

Although I really like the travel trays, I'll almost never have anybody sitting in the back seat. I wanted to thank you for the gorgeous interior shots - same color I chose!

I will admit they are only useful for long hauls with the kids as for everyday practicality, it just doesn't work with the dynamic ness of the car throwing all but their drinks around.

As interior, what did you choose for trim? I wasn't sure about what I chose but it turned out to be real nice. The dealer said most people pick some sort of wood trim with the coffee vernasca.

I went with the Fineline Brown Wood Trim. Is yours the Ash?

I went with the Aluminum Dark Mesh Trim and it turned out awesome against the coffee vernasca.

I did not get the leather wrapped dash for an additional $1200 and I'm fine with that. In fact, because I wanted the sportier look to go with the M sport package, this combo looks great in my opinion.

No my travel trays do not require the base carrier.

I know that the travel & comfort system was a little expensive but the whole point of the new X5 seat back with the attachment point is not have anything hanging off the headrest uprights.

I had something like that on my old X5 and it always seemed like it was an aftermarket bolt on.

This travel system looks slick and like it was meant to be there.

System works well. The travel tray is the older tray without the headrest mounting bracket.

They didn’t update their info yet. I went through this with my BMW parts guy.

They never updated this tray to properly fit into the lowered back seat slot

With the tray plugged into the seats directly, is there enough leg room to sit comfortably (as in space between the legs and the tray) for an adult?

Thanks for the photos!

How sturdy are you finding it... does it make any sounds, move up and down as you write on it, etc.? Curious if it's more a gimmick or genuinely useful.

It's so hard to find a full list of the travel and comfort accessories! Feels like the connector is a waste of effort on part of BMW.

That exterior combo is as good as it gets. How do you feel about the ride since the 21” RF are supposedly the harshest option? Also, that coffee interior looks suave, esp since it doesn’t blend in with fine line stripe.

It is very sturdy and well made. Similar to an airplane tray. You could easily write on it

Because my X5 doesn't came with the Travel &Confort pack, I had to use the T&C base support:

So it goes like this:

Size: 305.1 KB

Very sturdy indeed.

Magnetic Holders for Travel & Comfort system

Does any one know of upcoming Travel & Comfort attachements?

I have seen coat hangers, coat hooks, tables, and a number of specific tablet attachements.

What I really need is one with a magnetic pad, so the kids can hold their phones to watch.. but it does not exist yet

(I have some directly attached to the head rest bars)
