Track new G05 being exported to UK?
I know there are some historical posts or here about tracking new builds for export to the EU but they all seem out of date now.
Has anyone this side of the pond ever been able to successfully get any accurate details on cars coming to Europe/UK? My dealer is very vague about build status other that the facts its now cleared production and eta is week 20. Thanks |

Contact the genius using the BMW live chat when you go into build your Bmw site. Ask them for the status code of your car. You will need to provide order. It’s all a bit random when statues are changed. When you get to departed factory status you should be given an delivery date at the dealer. You can then roughly work out what boat it’s being shipped from Charleston to Southampton. Heres my log ...

They ship from Charleston to Bremerhaven then ship a few days later from Bremerhaven to Southampton on a different ship.
I bought mine when it was at 5055 Confirmed by Production Control so I was not able to change the spec but it was ver close to what I wanted and meant I didn't have to wait long. It went from 5100 to 5300 on 24th February 5400 to 5500 on the 25th February 6000 to 9000 on 26th February. It should ship on the first ship departing after 9000. For me the options were Glorious Leader on the 26th which took 10 days to get to Bremerhaven or Resolve departing on the 27th taking 18 days to get to Bremerhaven. You are then in the dark until it gets to 9605 pre EU port of exit (Bremerhaven). I missed it at 9605 but spotted it at 9610 EU port of exit on the 18th March so it seemed it shipped on Resolve. It was then At Sea 9620 on 26th February and 9630 Port of Entry on the 28th. My dealer was trying to get it in his Q1 numbers and clearly had better info that the system was showing as he knew it was landing in Southampton at 08.30 on the 28th . By search ships from Bremerhaven to Southampton I could see the it must have been on the HOEGH TOKYO. The dealer was hoping to pick it up on the 29th but couldn't get a release code f until it got to 9645 UK &EI Storage which wasn't until Saturday 30th. They ended up picking it up on the 2nd when it was marked as 9800 Arrived Dealer and I picked it up on the 4th. So because Inchape picked a few cars up themselves mine missed out 9650 and 9660. |
