Tow hook plate holder

I only mount the plate for inspection in MA once a year. Had luck on other BMWs with the tow hook mount but the thread is too big on our new G06 and looking for something economic considering it's used 10 minutes a year.

Has anyone found a tow hook plate holder for the G05/G06?

Thanks!

the issue with the tow hook holder is its interference with the PDC sensor, and since almost everybody has this feature, most don't opt for that type. i can only recall 1 person who went that route.

most go with slybrackets or carbonio. a few have gone with Sto-n-Sho

I have an F15 and I have been doing the same thing for 6 years... I bought mount from sto & sho and have been very happy with it.

Here is link to their website: https://stonsho.com/bmw/front-plate-bracket

Thanks everyone. I did indeed find one, US shop on ebay so I will try it out and report back. It was under $30.

I have the sto and sho on the jeep and could go that route too… however this is just for inspection, so hopefully it is only needed for 5 minutes a year!

So did find one, works perfectly. Its already off considering it was only for inspection in MA but it was very sturdy…and yes, it did make the PDC go off.

Ebay for $30

Just an FYI: I purchased the sto n show for my 2022. The 2018 model version works but is not on their web site. Purchased from CardId which does show it as the correct model and it is a little less expensive there.

Do you happen to have a link to the one you ordered? When looking on the Sto-n-sho site, my particular trim (40i MSport) is not listed and the company said they have not yet tested one on my trim and there are no dimensions listed for their various plate holders.

Use your plate and apply double sided tape. It will EASILY pass MA inspection.

Thought of that too was nervous about ripping it off!

I use many pieces- works better than the tow hook for the bmws and my 911. It'd be a sin to have a front mount on the Carrera*. For sure 😯

I first tried on. Fit our 540 but x5 was too big a hole!
