$70,000 MSRP

___________
60,001 is taxable amount ?
No. Here in AZ its a little different.
MSRP : 76420
Discount : 7040
Jan rebates/incentives : 3250
Net Vehicle Price : 66130 (<- Tax, License, Registration on this amount)
+ dealer doc prep fees

I think this is what RVAGuy was saying as well.

So now I have started seeing movement in Estimated Production dates. It was 1/14 week 7, and today it bumped up to 1/12.

All this while, the mygarage status just shows "production begins" and it has been like that since 10days. Looks like robots are swinging and cracking in SC on my VIN after all.

Boy, I am behaving like my 6yr old.

Order Placed 1/28 : Completed final negotiations and placed order.
1/28 : 111 - Order Received
1/28 : 112 - Scheduled for Production
1/31 : 150 - Production Started, VIN assigned

2/10 : Estimated completion date advanced from 2/14 to 2/12

2/12 : Quality check (10am ish)
2/12 : Awaiting carrier assignment (1pm ish)

1/31 to 2/10 was the most stressful I felt. No updates, nothing and it almost felt like my life is moving in slow motion.

So SC -> AZ via train and truck I guess. 8-10ish days ? anybody?

Nice! I'm in Los Angeles. My timeline for the first X5 we ordered (long story; explained in another thread) is the following:

1/11 - Order placed and order received
1/11 - Scheduled for production
1/14 - Production begins and VIN assigned
1/20 - VIN showed up on M-Decoder and showed "Prod. Date of 2020-01-18"
1/20 - Estimated production completion date moved from 1/27 to 1/25
1/24 - "Entering Assembly Line" through "Quality Check"
1/25 - "Awaiting Carrier Assignment"
1/25 - "Dispatched from Factory"
1/27 - "At the Port" (later confirmed this was the SC VPC)
1/30 - "In Transit"
2/10 - Status changed back to "At the Port" (at the Oxnard VPC)
2/12 - still showing "At the Port"

According to a representative I spoke to at BMW NA, the car was supposed to arrive at the Oxnard VPC on 2/7, but this apparently did not happen until 2/10. Also according to the representative, it takes "a day or two" from when it gets to the Oxnard VPC for it to be in transit to the dealer. So I'm assuming the car would end up at the dealer by tomorrow or Friday at the latest. So total time from "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" to "Dealership" is approx. 3 weeks for Los Angeles. I'll confirm once I heard the car is at the dealership, though it won't make any difference since I'm not getting the car from this dealership anymore. Sigh.

Oh well. I hope this is not a normal case scenario. But if it is, oh well one more.

I think the worst case for me will be when I get the car after all this and will have to give it to the detailer for 4 long days. That would be like rubbing salt on the wound. But it's for greater good. - that's what I keep telling myself.

It will all be worth it. If it makes you feel better, after that entire timeline I just posted above, I had to start the process allllll over again. Placed a new order on Friday (2/7) and entered "Production Begins" on Monday (2/10). It's going to be a long 4-5 weeks for me.

You probably will start getting calls from this CA.

More updates.
So I am able to download manuals now which means my VIN has propagated through the system. I know it was a long shot but I also tried registering the VIN with my Connected BMW app and yea it didnt work yet. It is one of those things which you know but still want to do it.

So a few phone calls later, got an exact status, even though mygarage website just shows Awaiting Carrier Assignment.

2/13 : Vehicle on ramp to be picked up by United Road Services.
2/13 : Called up United Road Services. They said my car is assigned to UA-Greer Terminal for a scheduled pick up today afternoon. I can track the car in transit but only after tonight.
No trains involved, no rerouting from CA to AZ. The truck is directly headed to dealership with rest of the dealer orders but on road. I always feel trains are better (no chipping)

Estimated date : SC (2/13) -> VPC (2/14) -> AZ (2/20)

I have started ordering stuff for my garage cleaning gear.
Those in AZ : there is an interesting alternative to CRSpotless DI water. Google PureTec Industrial Water. They offer DI tanks which run at $65/tank, with $15monthly rental, $18 delivery charge and for a TDS of 600 can provide 700-800 gallons of water. Much rugged than the flimsy CRSpotless. Oh there is $250 deposit fully refundable.

For the pressure washer, Kranzle looks great but way to expensive, researching alternatives.

Time travel back ? wishful thinking. (your dates).

Thank you for good stuff on cleaning supplies. It is completely impossible to find touch free car washes these days.

Yikes. sorry. just corrected the month. lol what was I thinking.

Yea, I have been staying up very late every night just reading and reading. I spoke to PureTec today. They provide industrial grade solution for DI water. Their recommended solution is to buy 2 tanks, feed output of one tank to other and use 2nd tank's output for car wash. The 2nd tank polishes the DI water. Since you get about 700-800gallons for 65$ a tank with 15$ monthly rental, I am now thinking I can wash -> ph neutral foam -> rinse all with DI water without breaking my wallet and touching the car.

Here's a guy who shifted from CRSpotless to Puretec. You can see the 2 tank system at 2:56 mark.

Specs: XDrive40i, xLine, Dark Graphite, 21” style 744 performance RF, Driving Assist Prof, Luxury Package, Park Assist Package, Premium Package, 2-axle AS, HK sound, Glass controls, Acoustic Glass, LED+Laser headlights.
Total Price MSRP : $76,970 (includes destination handling)
Discounts on MSRP : $8000

Current vehicle lease : 3 payments left. Dealer agrees to give fund the remaining 3 payments ( $2289 ) in addition above. I am told I can keep driving the current sedan until end of lease even after X5 arrives.
So effective discount : $ 8000 + $2290 = $ 10,290
My X5 effective price : $ 66,680

They will run my credit tomorrow and give me various financing options. But it appears that if I go through BMW FS there might be some additional rebate. I just need to see how the APRs are with respect to other banks.
Typically what rebates do you see with BMW FS loans?
I dont think I can push any further but wanted to check your views before I put ink on the paper.
Thanks all.

That's what matters. Comparing to other states or even other cities is not apples to apples comparison. As long as you got the best of all offers in your area that should be good.

Now comes the wait. Welcome to the gang.

Visited the dealer today to discuss my pre-delivery checklist, my expectations and to understand their standard operating procedure. The dealer was impressed by the checklist (all thanks to this forum).

I have specifically asked the dealer to only hand wash the car and no waxing at all. He had to make a few phone calls to get a deviation approved and told its recorded and will be done. If it actually happens, god only knows, but atleast I did my bit and the dealer seemed very cooperative.

Right now, it is not sure if the truck transport will arrive on 2/17 or 2/16 at the dealer but he said it will take a good 2-3hrs for their checks, wash and test drive to be completed. So right now mostly looking at 2/18 I guess, but we will see.

In the meanwhile, guys - Adams polishes website is running a good 20% off on pretty much most of the items, so sent a big order their way. 20% discount helped. I think it will get over by sunday.
I finally ended up ordering Kranzle from Obsessed Garage and the PureTec DI water 700gallon. They should be in by coming weekend.
The only sore point is I got an appointment with the detailer only for 2/24 for Stek and CSU black. So till then I probably wont be driving much until it gets layered up. They will keep the car for good 4 days.

The wait is really killing me now. But its all for the good.

I haven't decided. I got 30day rate locked in with BOA since they were offering me the lowest of all in Jan ( Capital One, BOA , BMWFS). When I take my delivery, I will have a chance to evaluate them again with Feb rates and decide.

Good think is previously you had to get financed by BMWFS to get some incentives I think. Now the 2000+1250 comes regardless of BMWFS financing. So you can shop around to get lowest numbers.
