Squeak Noise on Suspension
Hi everyone, I'd like to share my experience regarding the Suspension Noise issue with my 2020 X5. This problem sometimes disappears as driving time extends or with an increase in temperature. However, it mostly occurs at speeds below 20km/h, especially on uneven roads and gentle slopes (excluding speed bumps).
My car had two issues: one noise originated from the lower control arm, and the other from the air shock. The noise from the lower control arm sounded like a popping sound, while the air shock noise resembled rubber friction. The noise from the lower control arm affects driving, such as experiencing a moment of uncontrollable steering when passing over large bumps or driving too fast on highways. In the first video, both the lower control arm and air shock were problematic. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xFh...usp=drive_link The second video was recorded after repairing the lower control arm, but the noise persisted. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hSk...usp=drive_link If you're experiencing the same issue and are still within the 4-year warranty period, I recommend getting it replaced promptly, as it's free of charge. The sound from the air shock can be difficult to reproduce. If you're unable to replicate it, try opening the car hood and pressing firmly on the suspension area. This method might help you. I also want to express my gratitude to this forum post, as it greatly aided me: "https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1958538" |
