This facelift rendering actually looks good. Is it a dramatic facelift? No, and that's why existing X5M owners shouldn't feel anything really. Some of the other facelifts (X3, 3) are not looking like improvements over prior model years.
Not sure how I feel about the new large single panel screen inside. I like the original dash better on this M car. We have an i4 M50 pre-ordered and I think it works well there being an EV. |

Ehh I have to wait to judge as it actually get released. Not sure I"m digging the headlights honestly. The rest is close enough it looks right.

Honestly i'm not really sure what BMW is doing lately. Typically the headlight halo design usually changes after a few life cycles but recently I feel like they can't decide what they want so it changes radically after every redesign. This new direction is looking more like an audi to me and BMW's no longer has a unique brand identity feature. Lets not talk about the grills because i can go on and on about how freaking ugly those have become on certain models.
I have to say I am tempted to switch car brands more than I ever with the way things are going with BMW designs. Alan

Its sad that you drop 90K for a car and you force yourself to like how it looks.

The LCI looks insane. Finally looks a little more "tech" than bruiser.
But really it's irrelevant. In two years after this comes out a new "complete redesign" will come out. And two years later an LCI of the complete redesign will come out. And so on and so on. There'll always be a new model to get people feeling insecure about their current rig and leave them wanting more. |

I must say i'm surprised that a niche model like the X5M needs to have a front bumper re-design ... can;t imagine there are that many X5Ms out there as a % of the total number of X5s sold. i would like to have been a fly on the wall at the meeting that signed it off, just to hear the logic / business case for the change

Seems about right. The main problem is that the M models are released a year after the regular model is out, which only gives it a 3 year window before the facelift comes around which unfortunately doesn't consider that the M car was released a year after.
The G05 was out late 2018 as a 2019 model so it makes sense that a 2023 model year is the LCI year (4 years).

Sure this looks good but the inside looks hideous if you ask me.
