BMW X5 50e Oxford green ordered

I had already an order for the 45e, but living in Belgium, I got the chance to modify my order for the new 50e.
Delivery planned for end June 2023.
For the curious ones, you can see the prices in EUR that are applicable in BE.
It seems the car will be visible for some limited audience during the Belgian Auto Salon starting this Saturday (14/Jan/2023).

Forgot some details.
The base price for the 45e was 70.082 EUR, so the 50e is +- 8.500 EUR more expensive.
It has a few more options by default:
2TB, 322 (Comfort access), 413 (the separation net in the trunk), 4KR (wooden inserts), 4T3, 4T4, 4V1 (Iconic Sounds), 5AC (high beam assist), 6NX, 6PA.
The combined power goes up to 490HP.
The battery is 25% bigger than the one in 45e.
Also it can charge faster ( 11kW)!!!

Congratulations on your order!

Charging should be up to 7.4kW.

This is exciting. Not just a regular 50e, but in an individual color to boot.

Let's see if we can finally take a look at the LCI on the 14th.

We won”t see it until Feb. The 14th is a private viewing with no cameras allowed.

There is no traditional shifter anymore.

It's just a little rocker switch now... not a traditional shifter.

The X5 50e is a formidable vehicle. Should be a class leader and way better than what was available in 2016 when I had an X5 40e. A great vehicle that was hailed to death in Lubbock, TX at the end of its lease.

I made an update to my order, I've added the B&W sound system, after testing it in a 7 series ... quite a difference compared to the HK.
It seems the specs keep evolving, as the charging cable now shows 22kW ( mode 3).
Production planned for mid-July, delivery late September ( all individual colors go a bit later into production).

Did you wish for the delivery late September? Because 2.5 months seems a bit long for the delivery. From what I gathered 4-6 weeks can be expected from Spartanburg to most of Europe.

Ordered my 50e in Malachite Green (was going back and forth between this an Boston Green btw.) on 01.03 with the confirmation (quote assigned) coming in on 02.03, a planned production week 24 (mid June) and an expected delivery late July.

Individual colors are produced in batches though afaik so I guess the next Malachite Green batch is just a bit earlier than Boston Green.

While the mode 3 cable might be able to do 22kW I don't think the car will. Everything I every read/heard mentioned 7.4kW, which is perfectly fine in my book, charging the car from 0-100% in 3.5h I think.

The individual colors are built in batches, but don't think based off of the color. There was an Atlantis Blue built the same day as my Java Green.

Nope, I wanted it for start of June ... I'm equally surprised by the slow delivery, hope it will come faster. But this is the first BMW where I've ticked the box for an individual colour ( after driving the current/previous generation of X3 for 10 years), so I'm willing to wait more if needed.

I got my VIN today but still not clear on the production status/delivery date.
Anyone that can help tracking this down ( I mean PROD status)?

WBA41EU0X09T22157

I made an account on bmwusa for this but when I type the VIN it also asks for the Order date. I tried all known dates (initial order, made 3 updates to my config in the meantime) ... none works, I get an error message saying to try later.

Unfortunately, the tracking on BMWUSA is only for US vehicles. You will need to get that information from your dealer.

I managed to check the config of my X5 based on the VIN ... just to notice that some options ( Bowers & Wilkins and Driving Assistant Pack Pro) where not there!
I called my BMW garage to check what is going wrong.
Seems like some guy from BMW Germany changed the config 4 days before the car went into production and removed the two options, without an explanation ... at least without one that can be communicated towards the client).
Since the car is already produced, I was offered two choices: buys the less equipped one ( at an adjusted price, taking into account the missing options) or place a new order (production somewhere in September)
Well ... my new delivery date now got pushed to November 2023 (instead of September 2023, June 2023 ...). I think from now on, I'll just agree on a delivery year to keep expectations under control.
