Harmon Kardon - Spare Tirewell Woofer Install
Pretty underwhelmed with the bass output of the Harmon Kardon system. Decided to grab a retrofit subwoofer harness from Technic PnP and a cheap spare tire sub off of amazon. All-in I'm around a $350 investment.
Speaker install was a breeze with the battery and chassis grounding points being directly adjacent in the trunk. Confirmed the unit powers on but waiting on the PnP harness to show up in the mail today. Will report back on sound quality if anyone is interested. I have a hunch I'll end up returning the Rockville woofer and replacing with the more expensive JBL but maybe the Rockville will surprise me.... |

Initial Reaction: Don’t know why I was expecting more from a $200 speaker 😂. Managed to get decent sound out of it after tweaking some settings, but don’t think this one is a keeper.

Wanted to follow up after a week or so. Still planning on swapping out in the future, but there appears to be a break-in period with the speaker.
I'm sure my ears/expectations have also adjusted since install, but the sub doesn't sound half bad now. It's punchier and overall cleaner throughout the lower frequency bands. Still not the solution for an audiophile, but well worth the $200 if all you're looking for is some decent bottom end and an easy install. |

You would be better off, replacing the front speakers, including the base under the seats and adding an amp that will give your true sound Quality you’re looking for the hk only has about 463 watts from factory |

Ditto, but that's an interesting set up you did there...

To be honest, I’ve left it as is. I’ve had a number of compliments from friends thinking it was the stock stereo setup and how good the bass was. Hands down the setup sounds significantly better than from first install too. Once the speaker has broken in, it really does sound pretty good.

I am in a similar boat. I ended up adding a Match 10DSP/Amp, exchanged the underseat Woofers. The sound is amazing, but the low end is still lacking. I don't want to fill up the trunk with a gigantic Sub, so the Spare tire space is what I am looking at. I know that installing the Sub in the Spare tire area is not ideal... but I hope that the sound would still be much better than without it. |

Yes this one is for the G05. If you go to their website, you put in the model of your car and select which radio option you have (this is for the Option 688 - Harmon Kardon). It intercepts the factory amp in the left side/rear of the cargo area. Takes less than a minute to access and install. |

I have the S676 HiFi Speaker System. This show 3 options. 2 have the LOC. LOC 50i and LOC 100i. I think I just need the harness with no LOC? Thanks! |

I ordered mine with the LOC150. This ties into the harness and has the remote wire that tells the amp to turn on/off and where you connect the RCA's that provide the sound source to the amp - Pretty sure there's a level adjustment on there as well. I'd reach out to technic and I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

Where did you get those parts to screw it down? Does the sub kit come with anything like those?
I have no spare. There is a screw hole under the cover. Not sure what to get. Havn't heard back from Technipnp yet. So you plug that harness into here somewhere. Do you have to remove anything in there to plug it in? Mine looks like this: Last edited by doctorwizz; Yesterday at 12:38 PM.. |

Ah FML I bought the passive version! That is a return then.
Tech replied instantly to my email. Edit: I ordered the active sub. And the Harness for 676 with no LOC per support. BBL Last edited by doctorwizz; Yesterday at 03:48 PM.. |
