Q about annoying app behavior

Minor but annoying thing: my app just gave me an "Engine Oil" warning. Not a leak or low levels, but the fact that in more than 3000 miles, I'll need to get it serviced.

OK, fine but that's likely months away and in the meantime, I can't figure out how to clear the warning. That means if there is a leak or the fluid level does drop, I won't be able to tell.

So, is there a way to clear the message on the app? I RTFM but couldn't find anything. TIA

I think I just kept mine in the but it will not prevent other messages from appearing, it will show multiple alerts.

I had three messages showing, brake fluid, oil change and software update. I would imagine it will show two related to oil. I'm referring to the message on the main screen.

this current notification you’re getting is a heads-up for routine oil change. if your oil level drops dangerously low in the meantime, I’m willing to bet you’ll get a separate notification specific to that

you can’t clear that routine oil change notification, though. well, you can through the service menu (at least in the pre LCI), but in doing so assumes you’ve actually done the oil change. there have been some reports of folks clearing it, then going to their appointed oil change appt, only to have the dealership charge them for the service because according to the log, the routine one had already been done (by virtue of the notification being cleared), and the one they actually did was additional (non-maintenance) oil change

Just got a "BMW ALERT" text this morning warning me that my oil change is due in . . . 3k miles. Oy. This is going to be fun.

excellent idea, but BMW assiduously prevents any consumer access or feedback to the developers. Next time you are at the service center, tell your guy about an app problem and note the look on his (her) face.
