You could use a rooted android phone. There are APKs out there for doing various not-permitted stuff with Android Auto. A google search tells me there's something called CarStream and that you need a rooted phone to whitelist it for AA.

Just buy a tablet and a tablet holder for the cup holder and stream to the tablet. Don't think you can change any hardware to make it work for Idrive 7. Plus it will be much cheaper.
