Engine Radiator Fan Stays On When Car is Off
Is it normal for the engine/radiator fan to stay on for 5+ minutes when the car is turned off every single time? Even after short 5 minute drives when it is not even hot out side and engine temp is cold to normal? This is for a 2019 X5 50i...new to me purchase.

Thank you. I've never had that in the 4 X5s I have owned (non G05), the 4 N63 engines I have owned, and the dozen or so other BMWs. What is so significantly different with the G05 that requires the fan to run for 5+ minutes after every drive?

On your 45e, you may not have actually run the ICE when you shut it off, or, it may only have run for a short time. Take it on a long highway trip when it's hot out and exhaust the HVB, and it, too, will likely run its cooling fan after shutdown...especially if you then plug it in to recharge. Under that set of circumstances, I've had the fans running for nearly an hour with the combination of engine, battery, and charging circuits heat soaked from the ride.
