2020 M50i Resonator Delete

Hi All,

Has anyone removed the resonator on their M50i's?

I am considering doing the same thing and would like to hear some audio clips or videos if you could share please.

Thx

I did it on my 50i, replaced the resonator with an X pipe and cat less downpipes. Sounds like a monster!

My question is will just replacing resonator with an X pipe and nothing else improve the sound significantly or will it have to also include mufflers delete? Lastly will doing just the X pipe introduce highway cabin drone ? I'd be happy if X pipe improved sound but with no cabin drone!

Any reason why you got X pipe and not just straight pipes where they don't join?

Awesome, you won't regret it.

I originally had straight pipes and the sound wasn't "even" per se, too raspy at low speeds. Then purchased an X pipe online and had that installed instead where the resonator used to be and the sound is now much more smooth and deeper sounding.

i'm also interested in hearing if it's possible. i had the car modded at G-Power and the midpipes with OPF removed (Europe) and the sound is a little bit raspy at low rpms. Maybe an xpipe could solve this?

thanks

ok, so i just had this modification done, holy hell. What a difference, cold start on Sport Plus is insane, normal driving holding gears is insane. I recommend everyone with a M50i does this, will try upload video links asap.

can someone please tell me how to upload videos

I would be very interested in hearing this as well. I have the ability to measure, cut, and weld an Xpipe on my car right in the driveway..... but I'd like to hear some actual results.before I go hacking into my exhaust system.

I am shocked I am saying this, but that sounds mean. I didn’t expect it to sound so good.

did you replace it with just two straight pipes? I wonder if there are any benefits of adding a X pipe there

The only thing is that if you do downpipes in the future, this will be obnoxiously loud.
