Btw … I had my first hiccup with the car.

The wireless charging overheated my phone so that will be an unused feature. Such a shame.

Are you using a thick case or is it a foldable phone? I have run into the same issue on many different manufacturer's wireless charging in cars. (Looking at you Hyundai and Ford) I found that it is just not usable anywhere with those phones in cases or in the folded position.

I think that's a thing with some iPhones. (Never had problems with it in my '21 X5 M50, but that's a different car) I forgot where I read about it.

I have a case on it … I wouldn’t say it’s thick but I’ll try without the case .. but who doesn’t use a case these days ? They should fix this feature.

I really agree. I'm not sure if its a phone thing or capacitance thing... I had a Samsung Flip 4 that would shut down from heating when the case was on(any case, any wireless charger) or if it was folded (only in the Ford Mustang Mach-e and Hyundai Santa Cruz, but ok on desktop...) My friend had a Fold 5 that would overheat in the car he drove but not on the charger. I have an S23+ in a case with a cover on it and sometimes it will overheat whith the android auto and charging at the same time.

Interesting. It’s 2024. I’m sure they can fix this issue !

Apple has acknowledged that there is an overheating problem with cortina phones running certain versions of the OS. I didn't think the 12 was one of them. We have had phones overheating for years using that charger. It seems to be a combination of the phone, the apps that are running, the slow charger and the lack of air flow.

My dealer called me this morning to say my car is finished and just waiting to get on the truck. I can pick it up next Saturday, yay! The tracker wasn't accurate at all. Not even close. It still shows Entering Assembly Line...so much for that, lol.

We have a week 45 build, it has been sitting on the "at the port" status since the 11/9. Genius and dealer both told us today that it was done getting fit with accessories on 11/9 and has been waiting for a truck. ETA is tomorrow but considering it has not been picked up, that is looking highly unlikely.

Anyone else out there in the same boat?

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately is can sometimes take 3 - 5 days at the Accessories Center to have the mats put in. If they actually have the carrier scheduled then it can get there tomorrow as it is less than a days drive depending on where you are in Indiana. The tracker is not updated in real time so it could be waiting for dispatch.

Thanks for the info TurtleBoy. We are located in the Indianapolis area. My 2023 M50i arrived in a day when it shipped last December, so hoping for the same with my wife's 2024 50e.
