Ordered today - 2024 50e, coming from BEV

Had a Rivian R1T here, have had a lot of shop time/issues with it and its still pretty new but going to go back to BMW I'd say as enjoyed previous models (M3, X5, X3) the most when owned them.

The X5 looks likes its come a long way since our 2012 X5 ha! Looking forward to the ~39 miles of EV range as drive about 30 miles most days total or so to town/back and around so will be saving still there.

The rest of the tech looks pretty amazing. Got the 50e and loaded it up with just about every option possible! Did a custom order for the skyscraper gray and white ivory leather.

Delivery should be well before then. Barring delays in QC and getting a carrier, deliveries to the Chicago area about 3 to 4 days after assembly. Your CA or a call to Genius can get you your production week. About two weeks prior to that you will go into the Production Begins status. This does not mean that assembly has started but rather that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. At that time you can use the "F12" process to get your production date.

Awesome, I wouldn't mind it sooner for sure, will check out. Just quoting what dealer said. Said he has a December production slot that would come in January. I figured with the markets lately that they should have a problem slipping in customs.

I need to update my profile as escaped Chicago and am in Austin Texas (hour west in hill country now).

Thanks.

It is about the same timeframe to Austin. We also have to keep in mind the Christmas holidays but once you get the build week you will get a better idea if that will come into play.

Nice. I'm excited overall.
I'm also a little nervous having viewed the massive 50e check engine light valve issue thread that everyone is having. Hope is fixed maybe at factory now but still seems common

Saw that and am actively ignoring it and praying they fixed it!

I’m excited overall as well. Like your color choice btw.

Congrats on the new order! I’m also considering a 50E with light seats, though town between your Ivory Merino and the (off white?) Silverstone Sensafin. Couldn’t recently find any 24 X5’s at the dealer nearby with Ivory Merino to try…anyone have advice on how that’ll Ivory Merino will keep clean in Arizona summers of dark colored shorts? Assuming I’m the type that’ll wear dark jeans but will also wipe down leather stuff in the car once a month?

I've had before but I keep mine clean usually. I do wear jeans a lot too. One thing you can do is ceramic coat the seats, even real leather and it creates a good layer of protection for wiping off stains. Have a good one I always use can share later if go that route.

Thoughts?

So I kind of don't want to wait until January for delivery and found this local blue/silverstone X5 here in Austin (South).
They are willing to come down 5% which puts it under $88K from the $93k its at now you could say which seems like a decent reduction.

https://www.bmwofsouthaustin.com/new...1e0eb88466.htm

I like the blue (had blue 2012 X5 previously), and could skip the ivory leather I guess but:

- Is the silverstone a nice color? Trying to find more pics.
- This is the M package, seems nicer again overall I'd say.
- still has most packages it seems, massaging seats, trailer hitch accessories, etc.
- It is was a 10/25 - 11/8 product, so recent build which seems good?

This seem like a decent deal at 5% less?

EDIT: Ug, will see. My original dealer will match the 5% off if I just wait until delivery likely end of December so may still just keep that new December build and get a rental for a few weeks - its exactly what I'm looking for I guess plus they don't add/push any extra crap on you. I've got to sell my crappy Rivian R1T next week anyways.

At a dealer last week looking to see how that exact Tanzanite Blue + Silverstone Sensafin or Ivory real leather looked. Couldn’t find an X5 with that combo but they had a few convertible sedans with that combo of Sensafin and it looked great contrasting with the blue.

Looking at the specs, like a good X5 that someone spewed out all the options I’m going for including that trailer hitch. Only thing missing that I’m looking for is the rear manual shades, which, it’s a small thing and way less important than having DAP/PAP/MSport

Thanks, it should have the shades as has exec package.
But yeah, next week will decide if take this blue one if they still have it, or wait ~3-4 weeks more into December for my original custom config. ;-)

1st world choices!

DAP/PAP/Msport were most important to me as well + massaging seats for those long trips.

As for the color combo IMO would probably be one of the nicest ones. The blue on white/silverish looks great. There’s a small part of me that thinks maybe I should have went with that color over the white metalic. I don’t know your region well but I think 8% off is doable.

May I ask what, if any discount your received when ordering your x5 50e? I’m ordering one exactly like the original poster in the next few days and would appreciate the frame of reference. Thanks in advance.

For me, they pretty easily agreed to 5% off.
Hoping to also add the $4000 military rebate on top of it also.
