Hi All,

I played the customer order for an X5 50e in October. Dealer claimed they have allocations, and that I will have my car by the end of the year. I haven’t received any built information yet, but every time I call, I am told that my car sits in the top of the order bank. Any thoughts on this?

Top of the order bank, which you likely are not, means nothing in regards to you having an order. Only once the dealer gets an allocation that can be used to fulfill an order in the order bank will you actually have an order. At this point you definitely will not get it prior to the end of the year if the dealer is waiting on an allocation. The current allocations are for January builds so unless they can find one from last month from another dealer you are looking at January at the earliest.

I personally would shop the build around d to other dealers and anyone that can match or beat the deal with a January allocation in hand would get my business.

I ordered my x5 50e end of August and we just got it this week.

Definitely wasn't my order experience. Sounds like they really wanted your business and are trying to string you along. If it were me, I'd be doing as TurtleBoy suggested... shopping around and find a dealer who can give you a slot that's actually in the queue (112 status I think it is? Still able to me modified but in the system and allocated already)

I would ask for a production number or cancel with them

order bank can be right away or a few months depending on the dealer volume

if you dont get a production number right away that means they dont have a allocation. When they will have an available allocation is unknown. They may get one but have others tied to them who knows. Hence why you want to get that production number right away so yo know you are locked and loaded

You may want to send some emails out to other dealers and see if you can get an allocation right away and go that route.
