Update = Online, Vehicle went to SCHEDULED FOR PRODUCTION July 30. I was told by Genius on the phone it was to be week 34. Today - 6 AUG - has moved to PRODUCTION BEGINS with a VIN

So really, no movement from Production Begins on 6 Aug until 18/19 Aug....

But now of course, as everyone said, it hit half a dozen spots in a day or so.

Poor information at the moment from BMW. In the U.K. we can only check with the online chat, who have in the past been really good.

Not so much for me now.

Thursday I asked - congratulations sir your car went into the assembly shop at 11am this morning. Great I thought. Delivery due in the U.K. 11th October.

Double check Friday, see how far through assembly it is. System has been updated sir, your car is on a ship to Bremerhaven, will be delivered 27th of August. Are you sure? Yes sir.

Given conflicting information, checked again today. Now at status 9000, but not on a ship. New delivery date of 27th of Septmber.

I was hoping to use information from BMW to decide when to put my Q7 up for sale. But, given that even when production has started, they haven’t got a bloody clue, I think I’ll wait a bit longer.

I wish we had online tracking here in Australia!

My dealer initially told me was scheduled for week 31 build.
Then got sent my VIN on 9th August.
M decoder says production date 31st July.

Still waiting for a ship assignment though. As of late last week they said no update from their end. Was hoping it would be on a ship by end of this month, but maybe not!

Mine has been in that status since Aug 17. I'm in CA so not sure if that makes a difference.

I'm east coast so from everything I've read it only takes a few days. I fear it was damaged in transport and they are trying to fix it.

They are required to tell you that if you ask. If the damage is above a certain percentage (can't remember what) they have to tell you up front.

I called genius about my X3 that's "awaiting carrier" and they said it was actually in process and had an ETA to leave the center on the 25th, but they never got confirmation that it did.

The dealer I'm getting it from is only getting 4, and all three have the same "awaiting carrier" except for one which says it's "in transit".

Is it fair to assume they're all in transit? I'm sure they were all ordered at the same time...

Dealer finally told me that allegedly the shipper is claiming that it has "too many" cars to deliver so that is why it's been 10 days since it was released to the carrier.

For some reason, I thought we were in a market shortage ....

The first time I heard of the driver shortage was yesterday when I spoke with a friend at a dealer (motorsports) and he expressed the same thing.

So this is believable since there is staff-shortages in a lot of industries right now.
