My production week is 38. I keep hearing folks build dates moving up. Hoping mine will too. Do you recall at all the dates that your tracking moved from step 1, to 2, 3 etc?

Also, anyone considering going to Greenville to do the Performance Center delivery. I'm in PA, so within a one day drive. I'm considering, but have to figure out how the timing will work. Maybe I'll call BMW Genius today and see what they can tell me.

I'm tracking at https://mygarage.bmwusa.com/track-my-bmw.html

Is there somewhere else to track? I don't see terms like "150" and "NOVA" on there, nor do I see the build date. I had to call the Genius to get that.

Thanks! Where do you see the status numbers and build weeks. I'm tracking at https://mygarage.bmwusa.com/track-my-bmw.html but I only see descriptions, not code numbers.

If you hit F12 on your computer while the on the MyGarage site you can see the production date. Here is one post that talks about it in greater detail:

Here is a post on build codes: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=623140

I hope this helps!!

If you are considering PCD you should ask your dealer to submit request ASAP. I heard that once you reach a certain stage, you can't request it anymore. However even if you request it, you can decline the date they offer and go back to taking dealer delivery.

Thanks for that info. I was able to get a phone number for PCD department: 864-968-3037. They were very nice and answered a bunch of questions. I'm prod week 38 (Sept 19). They said I have until the end of Aug for the dealer to get the request in. Then once the vehicle reaches status 112 (status 150 if you have any special order items), that's when they reach out to schedule a date. As you said, you can decline and revert to dealer delivery at that point without incurring any additional delay.

However, if it reaches end of production and is shipped to the PC, your only option at that point is to pick it up there, or pay to have it shipped to you at your expense. You can delay the PCD date, but you can't revert to dealer delivery. Makes sense, because they will have done all the usual dealer prep stuff at the PC.

You can do the "BMW 101" experience (the whole thing including hotel, etc) without actually picking up the vehicle from them, but there is a $695 charge for that. That doesn't really make sense to me because they are not having to prep the vehicle. But that's the deal.

Yes, that definitely helps. Now I understand that you find this info buried in the URL code on the site. Tricky. I am still at code 111 at this point. My prodDate is blank (""). I'm assuming that won't fill in until I move to step 112. Thanks for the link to the codes as well.

My options list is really long, including many codes that I've not seen on any of the order sheets. Does anyone have a comprehensive reference for what all the option codes mean?

BTW, I'm on a Mac, so F12 doesn't get the URL details. I'll post below how you get to this info if you're on a Mac using Safari browser...
  1. Open Safari Preferences > Advanced and check the Show Develop Menu option there
  2. Click the Develop menu > Show Web Inspector (the Mac equivalent of F12)
  3. Next, click the Network tab, then the XHR/Fetch filter
  4. Navigate to My Garage (mygarage.bmw.com) DO NOT click the Track Status link.
  5. Click the various "forward" items in the left column until you find the one with ProdVehicleDetails near the top.

The prodDate item will not fill in until you reach Production Begins (150).

The reason they charge is because if you pick up the vehicle, they don't have to ship it, so the cost of the experience is a wash to them. Now that you're not picking up the vehicle, it now becomes an additional expense to them, thus having to charge.

That makes sense. Another way to look at is that they use the money they save by not shipping to cover the cost of the PC experience.

They did say you can do the track drive part for no charge for new owners.

Big jump last night! It went from "entering assembly line" to "awaiting carrier assignment". Fingers are crossed for a next week delivery 🤞

Thanks. Anxious to see how the final steps of this buying experience goes. My dealer warned me that sometimes it takes weeks to ship a car. On a positive note, this is already light years faster than our experience with Jeep; it took 8 months to get that car from when we ordered it so when it was finally delivered to the dealership and we believe it was stuck in a train yard somewhere for quite some time

Shipping can take weeks when coming from Europe. To STL area, it will be via truck from SC and will take 1-3 days. There is a good likelihood that you will have your new X5 by middle to end of next week

@Blue87 let me know how long your X5 takes to get to STL. Ours goes into production on Friday and we are picking it up from Newbold. Which dealership did you order from?

Mine spent the day in QC and now at waiting for carrier assignment. Doing PCD so it is still a few more weeks before I pick it up.
