No, it is only available on new vehicles.

As mentioned, it is separate from the dealer discount however we have had many CA’s try and lump it in with the discount and offer a lower one. Best to do all your negotiating and then mention any incentives you may be eligible for.

What are the best options if buying my X5 lease out one day? Wait until the very end of the lease, and look at finance rates from BMW Financial versus online banks/CUs?

I would look and see if it is less expensive to do it now than keeping the lease and doing it later. You can get your current payoff amount online from your account access. Many of us bought ours out early because it saved a lot in interest. That was a couple of years ago though so now with the higher interest rates it may be better to wait until the end of the lease as the rent charge may be less than what you would pay for a loan under current conditions. I would make that comparisons every few months if you see interest rates change.

At any point though I would shop around for the best interest rate you can get. If you are affiliated with the military you will want to make sure you check out Navy Federal but if you are not at least look at PenFed as they sometimes have good rates.

If you need anything or assistance in making the comparisons just let me know.

Question about Navy Federal Credit Union rebate. To get the 4k rebate you have to be a member and finance through them, correct? Or do you get the rebate just for being a member, allowing you to finance with someone else?

NCFU makes loans and is independent from the military discount. You can also get the military discount certificate via NFCU. Most here get the certificate via I’d.me or TrueCar BMw military site. Joining NFCU is fairly straightforward.

For clarity, there is no Navy Federal Credit Union rebate. It is the BMW Domestic Military Incentive and one of the ways to qualify for it is being a member of NFCU for at least 60 days. They are a partner that offers the printing of the certificate just like TrueCar. If you print the certificate from NFCU's site you are free to finance the vehicle from any source.

I'm trying to find the certificate on the NFCU site but having trouble, do you have a URL or menu clicks to get there?

Here you go, Truecar hosts it. It will verify your account login and then you can print the certificate.

I had a SA recently tell me that military can be applied to a dealer loaner vehicle that is now up for sale.

I was surprised to hear it, but he was sure of it. Even had the manager confirm. They don't treat them as new vehicles otherwise, the warranty and maintenance schedules have already kicked in.

As long as the loaner/demo has less than 5k miles on it then it is considered new and eligible for all new vehicle incentives.

I would say unlikely it qualifies for it then but perhaps there is something different about the domestic military incentive versus other incentives in this regard.

Just tried it and it worked just fine for me. If you still have problems you may want to call them. When are you getting the error? After verifying what ID.me or prior to that?

I just tried it again on a different browser and it worked fine again. Went to the print screen after logging into ID.me.

I would contact TrueCar and see what the problem is so this way you can have the certificate printed and not have to rely on a dealer.
