My 50e was getting around 65 miles on the stage 1 charger, granted it took 13 hours to charge, since I had a 7.4 KWh charger fitted it’s now getting around 50 miles??
Any advice??

charges losses with AC > DC are typically around 10% on level 2 and actually less than on level 1, so likely not contributing to your range loss.

did the charge limit setting in the vehicle change? IOW, are you charging fully?
cooler weather decreases range and using the heater also consumes more energy compared to A/C.
is you driving more 'spirited' lately?

remember, the amount of electric range upon full charge is a reflection of your most recent driving habit, style, etc and is affected by temperature, terrain, HVAC use etc. when you saw 65 miles of range, the vehicle saw you as more efficient, but now at 50 miles, it's seeing you less efficient in your driving, but remember, it may not just be you but those other non-controllable factors i mentioned above.

FWIW, charging with any EVSE is 'slow' compared to EVs that can utilize DC charging. In the US, level 1 = 120vac input, and it is less efficient than level 2 = 240vac input. Mode 1 and mode 2 are different, and in Europe at all 220-230vac inputs, just different current levels. On a hot day after a hard drive, a higher current level input MIGHT call for a bit more cooling, but for the most part, on shorter trips and more temperate conditions, may not call for any cooling at all.

100% is 100%, it doesn't make a difference how fast it was reached. If your estimation is now lower it is most likely due to driving style and/or temperatures.

Also in UK but with 45e which I've had since Feb 23. I use an Andersen charger but the X5 45e is limited to 3.7kw. So far the electric range after each charge has been as low as 43 miles but as high as 63. I'd say on average it is mostly around 50 miles.
Based on no real scientific evidence I'd say range per charge is very much dependent on ambient temperature. My journeys tend to be either very local and 100% done on electric or 165 mile each way motorway trips. So far I've done just under 12,000 miles.

Thanks I think I will find this variation too, the Service advisor said when he had his 45e if he charged it in a normal 13amp plug it would increase mile by 10 miles, as the electric is charging slower, unsure it that was BS or true?

BS. a slower charger is just “easier” on the battery which can prolong its life, but doesn’t increase its range

My Andersen charger can pull power from our solar panels and if it's not too sunny (ie most days in the UK!!) the charger will throttle back to as low as 1.4KW, I'm not sure a lower charge rate gives anymore range.... Maybe different on the 50e as you can charge at over 7KW but I'm not sure there is any difference. Quite often the car will continue to pull 3.7 KW for some time after the BMW app is showing the car is 100% charged, maybe it has a secret reserve capacity?

BMW will use what is call cell-balancing occasionally which will cause it to continue to operate after reaching an indicated 100%. The battery assembly works best and lasts longer when each cell is charged to the same point. Due to minor variations during production, some cells can take a little longer to reach full capacity than others...cell-balancing can help more of the cells to reach their full capacity.
