I have this set up along with catless dps. The sound is awesome.

I don’t think there is any differences between the 2021 and 2022 exhaust.

To be honest, I was having trouble even finding an exhaust in general outside of BMW and FI Exhaust, for the G05 40i

I have a 22 X6 4.0 with the M sport exhaust and I’m definitely disappointed. Hardly no growl at all. Definitely nothing like I was expecting.

I have a 2020 X6 40i with M Sport exhaust and its pretty much what I thought it would be, maybe even a better than I thought it would be, having tested a G05 40i without the MS exhaust, and previously owned a G30 540i with standard exhaust. The MS exhaust is without doubt a big step up from a standard exhaust on this engine.

Everything is neutered these days due to emissions etc so generally exhausts aren't as lively as they used to be.

But also the 40i is the 'small' engine for this car, so they were not going to make it sound raw like an X3M40i, which is sold as the 'big boy' of the X3 range. Obviously it can never growl or burble like a V8 either.

Its probably fair to say that the MS exhaust is a noticeable step above the standard exhaust on this engine, but a step below an M Performance version of the same engine. Its sits right in the middle of the 2.

I'm curious how the M Performance exhaust compares to M Sport exhaust on these cars.

I love the sound of the M Performance exhaust. I'm glad I bit the bullet. It definitely turns heads when I open both valves. I also have a DP so it helps with the sound and burbles.

I'd be totally interested in a comparison video as well. At the moment, with MS exhaust, the cold start (as engine roar to life) was really the best part of the day

My 340i has the BMW MPPSK exhaust and it sounds amazing. Wish they'd make the same for this X5. It's valved and when you select sport mode the valves open and it's basically a straight pipe back from the cat. Flaps closed it still sounds a little more aggressive than stick but definitely tamer. Also came with the tune.

Yeah anyone have links for these options? I wouldnt mind throwing an M performance exhaust on if I could. With that being said I have a 2021 F150 also, with a side exit exhaust with a V8, and I understand i'll never get the demon leaving hell sound, but i'd like to capitalize on what I already hear on the stock exhaust on the x5.
