Which dealer did you end up using? Leith advised me that if it's not available to order via the website builder then it's not available. On the other hand, Frank at SouthPoint was able to get both wireless charging and the tow hitch onto my build.

I just put in an order for an M50i and the order sheet says wireless charging is standard, included. My main concern is if I can use my phone to start the car. I dont feel like carrying keys anymore, lol.
Are you able to start your 2022 newly built x5's with your phone? (not remote start)

wireless charging and NFC components for Digital Key are separate hardware where one does not depend on the other to function. (they're just installed in the same space.) AFAIK, NFC isn't removed so you should have the Digital Key feature as long as you also have Comfort Access and a compatible phone.

I have a newly minted M50i with wireless charging. And yes - you can start the car with the phone or the NFC card (and apparently a newer Apple Watch, if you add the car key to the Apple Wallet in the watch).

I found that the phone hit my knee when driving (i'm 6'2") in the left side position shown on the website. So I mounted just to the right of the right side center vent, with the usb plugged into the slot above the cup holders. Tucked the cable on the dash with a bit of velcro so it doesn't flop around. Will take a pic shortly.

The mount came with two-sided adhesive which is solid, its quite secure.

Edit: with pic attached

Hopefully sometime this year, we can buy parts to install it ourselves. My 45e made in Nov doesn't come with a wireless charger either.

My experience with Speigel wasn't good.
First a week or two, the adhesive was very sticky, which was very difficult to dismount the phone. And then,, it never performed how it used to be..it frequently drops the phone down. Also note that the adhesive gets gooey during the summer or hot weather time and it creates a mess.

I followed the manual from the start, by using the right phone case and keeping the contact surface cleaned.

Did you use adhesive to connect the phone to the mount? The adhesive is to mount the base of the mount to the dash...the phone attaches via MagSafe (assuming your phone is MagSafe-compatible, iphone 12 or later)
