From my understanding, you will not get a production date until you get a VIN.

For example, I placed my order on 1/5 and received my production number on 1/6. Today, 1/20 I just got my VIN and now shows a production date of 2/3.

It took about 8 days for my car to move from Production Scheduled until Production Begins. While in Production Scheduled prod date was "". Now that I have Production Begins I have my date in the XHR/Fetch. A VIN was provided as well.

Very difficult to say when the timing for everyone will happen. Many factors include parts availability, models, dealer allocations and delivery locations. Just my guess on how and when production is scheduled and begins.

A big difference a day makes. I wonder if this is due to 45 vs 40? I hope you can share some thoughts after you take delivery.

6 weeks is pretty standard, so you're probably looking at February production. Your SA should tell you what to expect... these days 8+ weeks is probably more likely. I ordered 11/23 and took delivery 1/7. My SA said late February. And I had a complicated order with Merino seats and air suspension which I thought would delay it.

just spoke to BMW Genius hotline (first time) they answered right away, asked on ETA arrival to the dealer:

ETA looks to be 1/25/2022

I think they got me into an existing slot as a repeat buyer, and/or got lucky. Plus we live relatively close to the factory.

I ordered on 11.26.21. Dealer had no allocation but promised me February delivery. I did not look around for a one with allocation because I got an insane amount for my trade at this dealer.

On 1.12 emailed BMW Genius <bmwgenius@bmwusa.com> and they gave me a production date of 2.7.

I just saw today it moved to "Production Begins". And the prodDate is 2.7.

So if your dealer didn't have allocation then maybe you are in a similar timeline I was in.

same here but you can still see the status on your build right before it will give you an error.

also you can give a call to BMW genius, its usually quick.

happens all the time... occasionally worse than others. ... one thing you can try is clicking onto a build really fast before the page freaks out and gives you that message.
