B58 Engine in 45e fast warmup

Hello,

I've got my 45e since Tuesday and noticed that when driving on the ICE only in sport (with low RPM's of course during break in) that the engine oil is warming up very quick. Even when it's freezing over here now. I check the oil temperature in the sport display view. It goes relatively quick to 100°C (212°F). My previous 40E 4 cylinder was a lot slower getting the oil to ideal temperatures. Any one else noticed this too ? I guess it's a good thing, because I always warm up my engines. But this one is already warmed up after 5kms slow driving.

Makes me wonder if the batteries are warming the engine.

skeptics and even technical knowledge-seekers often speculate the damage done to the ICE when one is puttering around in Electric mode then suddenly kicking down when the ICE is 'cold'. The answer is: the BMW engineers already addressed this. this fast rise in oil temperature is a great example of how great BMW PHEV technology has progressed!

the HV batteries are located towards the rear in the underbody just forward of the rear axle and under the 2nd seat row. it's positioned well away from the engine

I believe the electric system is circulating coolant etc to keep the ICE as if it was warmed up.

I have noticed that my 40i ICE w/48V mild hybrid system warms up very quickly.

I had assumed it was related to the front grill shutters and that by keeping them closed allowed the engine to warm up quickly?
