Tires grabbing stones like flypaper

We wonder why stones and road debris is chucked up against car! Tires are like glue!

Yup! The summer tires pick up and kick up every freakin stone and piece of gravel. I cringe each time I change from my winter to summer set up. The snows don't pick them up.

The Michelin S4S on our M2 don't seem to be nearly as contact paper sticky as the ones on our X5M. I was noticing this exact kind of stuck-on grit on the X5M earlier this week, and immediately went over to the M2 to see what it looked like (we had been following each other home from an event), and the tires there were essentially clean. Maybe a combination of compound and vehicle weight?

You’ve really got to get some mudflaps. Only thing that saved mine. Made mine from a sheet of carbon fiber. $25

Its hot, the rubber is soft, and the car is a heavy pig - what do you expect?

Yikes. Don’t expect anything. It’s just an observation.

You lose alot of the handling characteristics of the summer performance tires though. The whole point of the car is the performance. Take one aspect of that away and I feel like why did I pay this much for this car?

Definitely the vehicle weight playing a part, literally pushes those rocks into that soft compound.
