Muffler delete and install an universal valved muffler. Any thoughts?

So I have been exploring some cost-effective options for the exhaust.
I had my m50i straight piped with no muffler. It sounds really deep and aggressive, but it is sometimes too loud for the neighbors and also got drones on the highway.
I've seen a valved mufflers costs around $700 which you can turn the sound ON and OFF. The only thing is that it only has one outlet on each side, which is different than the stock and any other aftermarket ones. (see link https://valvedexhausts.ca/products/d...ote-and-module)

Do you think it's a bad idea in terms of performance and possible damage to the engine?

let us know how it works if you pull the trigger. Myself I'd prefer something designed for my M50i but that's just me.

So far I think there are just Dahler and GThaus, and both of them are more than $5000. I tried to contact Eisenmann and they told me that they are not producing one. I watched a video of someone fitting an F96 AK cat-back on the m50i, so I believe it can be an option too to use the X6M version. I just don't know how they would have affected the actual performance and sound.

This is what I have right now. 3 inches cut-out on both sides. What really bothers me is those extra pipes go underneath the car and you can see them from the back. Also, the sounds are leveling when starting the car because of it.

Yea I've seen the 5K options. I like spending $$$ but that is steep even for me. love the sound of the muffler delete in the Video but I'm done with highway drone. guess I'm getting to damn old. LOL

It has a valve and remote control to turn it on and off to stock. I just don't like the look of it. That's why I'm looking for a valved muffler to replace the cutout pipes.

I've seen a Chinese knockoff of an akropovich exhaust for the X5M (which will fit if you remove the exhaust bezels).

But.... you get what you pay for when you order from China..... so....

I'm waiting for a "reasonable" priced X5M exhaust from many of the aftermarket manufacturers. Nothing yet.

Update, I asked the manufacture and it's for 3.0 engines.

I really like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB5t5M2kgb4
Eisenmann for m850i, the same engine so maybe predictable sound if we get X6/5M version to retrofit?

Why not just goto an exhaust shop and ask them to make you a custom one?

Makes me wonder how much $$$ those companies are leaving on the table by charging $5K prices for a muffler/resonator, seems like they're shrinking their markets down to a tiny size.

Valved Muffler

Has anyone had confirmation on that valved muffler for the 40i? Does it bolt-in or require welding, and how is the noise comparison?

You will need to cut your stock muffler and custom fit this one. Basically a muffler delete when valves open.

I ask the valved muffler manufacturer, and unfotunately they don't have anything made for V8s.

Not much exhaust options out there yet. I’m probably going to cut out my resonator and replace it with 2 double H pipe.

I got this coming for xm50i 2022

Does anyone know a good way to remotely control the valves? It uses factory valves but I want to a way to easily open and close them Like I would with a Fi-Exhaust

Also my 200 cell cats I got coming: https://us-icbuim-file.oss-us-east-1...2FL0%2F001.mp4
