That reduced usable capacity would explain why the charging times are quoted as 4 hours for 0-80% and 5.3 for 0-100% in the US, and 5 and 7 hours respectively for Europe

So £3.20 for 40 miles? I'm currently getting 36mpg in my 30d and Costco is currently (I think) £1.03 per litre, so I make that roughly £5.19 to do the same trip (my math may be completely wrong - very long day!). Closer than I thought, though not really thought about it in detail, and savings wouldn't be my main driver. I guess if your work provides a charging station that could be an increasingly useful perk! Equally, I presume there will be lower mpg for when you have to use the petrol engine so perhaps there are instances where it will cost you more than a diesel. |

I'm not there yet, but when my 45e is delivered, I'll be seeing if I can get a SMETS2 meter. 5p/kwh for 4 hours a night. If you have solar/batteries, Ocotpus Agile may be worth looking at too. *I'm nothing to do with Octopus.. just working out whats the cheapest method to charge the batteries!*

I have EDF's electric car tariff at 11p/kWh.
If you have a smart meter it's 8p for 9 hours overnight, 16p daytime. But for some reason they won't install one for me. |

Have an allocation on order. My SA is allowing me to equip one how I want it so I can test drive it (with the hopes I buy of course).

Battery life in hybrid mode
From the press release:
"The 6-cylinder engine produces 282 horsepower and comes mated to a synchronous traction electric motor, which churns out an additional 111 hp, resulting in a combined power output of 389 hp. " If you are driving in hybrid mode, could the battery "run out" so that you are left with a maximum of 282 hp? |

In my 40e I felt the difference when driving with low battery level. With the 45e I haven't felt that. Better battery management? Bigger battery? I didn't have to drive with a nearly empty HV battery. |

I also thought the 30miles range was because EPA was too pessimistic but now it makes sense. Last edited by sebseb; 07-16-2020 at 08:55 PM.. |

European owners who have had their 45e over this past winter:
When well below freezing is there a temperature at which the vehicle will not operate in pure electric mode? Perhaps less than 10 F or -12 C etc? |

I purchased this vehicle in the USA on Sept 11. It was known the hybrid battery had a defect in some of the 2021 cars. The dealer assured me the car I was ordering was not one of them. Unfortunately, she was wrong. I took my car back to the dealer on October 14 and there it sits. I want a replacement which is being refused "at this time".
However the few short days I drove the car were remarkable. I got all the bells & whistles. The car literally drives itself. You must maintain nearly a constant finger on the steering wheel but it took me from Las Vegas to LA with very little intervention on my part. The ride was amazing. I only drove in town 1/4 of a tank of gas before I couldn't charge the car anymore [due to the battery recall) but I had gotten nearly 300 miles on that 1/4 tank. Gas mileage is amazing if you charge it each night. |

**doesn't your 40e have a 14-mile EV range, which is much less than the newer 45e? 30 EV miles (US market) is still a big improvement. Last edited by nZtiZia; 12-30-2020 at 01:58 PM.. |
