Hi,

I'm placing an order soon with alpine white + extended shadow trim. I like how the rear looks with black exhaust tips, but I feel like chrome front grill looks better on alpine white. I'm thinking about changing the grill after a few months if I don't like the black one.

Anyone here swapped out extend shadow trim front grill back to chrome grill? Is it the same process as changing chrome grill to black grill (OEM) or was there a catch?

Grille change process is the same either way. I assume you have read the DIY to change the chrome grille -> black? Its exactly the same process to go the other way.

Thank you! Yup, I read it and changed one myself before (for F15). Since extended shadow trim is an option from BMW, I was wondering if there was something different. Sounds like it's exactly the same.

Good idea!
The black looks kinda cheap with white, chrome is better and the cerium on the M50i is even better.

I love black grills in other colors, but not on white for some reason

Gonna keep black for a few months and see how it grows on me first though.

My opinion is exactly the opposite

I think the black grill looks great on an Alpine white car. I thought I might change mine to chrome but after a month of owning the car I really like the black/white look

I had my 741 wheels painted black today to complete the look.

If you decide to swap, you might find someone who has chrome who wants to swap for your black.

The chrome grille looks awful against white. My car came with it and it just looked weak.

Changed to shadowline and it transformed the entire front end.
