M50i Build
Just placed my order, I have a week 47 allocation:
X5 M50i Black Sapphire/Coffee Extended Merino 22" 742M Black Wheels with Red calipers (1PQ) Executive Package (ZPX) Driving Assistant Pro (ZDY) Parking Assistance Package (ZPK) 2-Axle Air Suspension (2VR) Front and Rear Heated Seats (4HA) Heated front seats, armrests, and steering wheel (4HB) Leather dash (4M5) Carbon Fiber trim (4MC) Front massaging seats (4T7) B&W Diamond Surround Speakers (6F1) Extended Shadowline trim (7M9) I've been debating long and hard on DHP or 2-axle air for the last week. Ultimately decided to go with 2-axle air since I will be taking this off road on a monthly basis on weekends. The air suspension has pretty good clearance at the highest setting, which is where it will be whenever it leaves the pavement. I drove it today with the 22s and it's pretty good with regards to body roll, especially once it is set to the Sport suspension setting. I think having the larger wheels helps. It doesn't have the active roll stabilization found on DHP, but it does have the integral active steering, which helps with tighter turns. I was pretty surprised with how good it was in Sport, so I just decided to go with that. This way I'll have a pretty good setup regardless of the conditions I'm driving in. |

Jealous of the red calipers and carbon fiber! I wish those were available on the 2020's.
No alcantara headliner? If it isn't too late add it in, it's really nice! |

I just wish I could spec it with the soft close doors and heated/cooled cupholders that you guys got for 2020. I'm sure they will add those options back in the spring, or for 2022 if car sales go back to normal. I honestly hadn't considered alcantara. I need to see if I can find good pictures of it. There's still time for me to add that, my build status is 112. So haven't hit 150 yet. |

very nice build. You will love the red brakes/black wheels. I love mine, really pops. but dang those wheels are a pain to clean lol. I clean my car for the first time this weekend and the wheels took forever!! but worth it.
alcantara headliner is really nice and if you can swing it its a nice option but not a deal breaker. if you are not 150 yet then yea you should be able to sneak it in. I dont see anything else you would be missing that you may want to add, looking forward to when you finally get it, keep us posted!

LOL yeah wheel cleaning is going to take almost as long as the vehicle itself! I have that problem right now with my F80 and my 666M wheels! These are almost as bad as 666M, but not quite.
Yes, there's still time for me to switch since I'm still status 112, but there's a chance it is going to cost me $1,650 to switch because the alcantara is a Priority 1 option and I would lose the $1K incentive that **we think** I'll be eligible for next month. The issue is we won't know for sure on the incentives until next week, and by then I could be status 150. So for now I have it off, as it's not worth losing the incentive to me. Now if we're totally off base, and BMW won't be offering it, I'll definitely switch for $650! There's a good chance we won't find out in time though.... |

Sorry, I forgot to update my post...
So because I told my CA I wanted to wait for the mid-November Drive promotion that we thought I'd be eligible for (the $1k incentive I mentioned in the other posts), he never put my name on my allocation but he built it to my spec with everything I wanted except the alcantara headliner since it's a Priority 1 option. As far as the factory was concerned, it was just a dealer allocation so all of you Week 48/49 guys got ahead of me in line Anyway once the drive to end hunger event started on 11/17, we got my OL code, and with that in hand he put my name on the allocation and then he added the alcantara. The very next day, on 11/18 I hit Status 150, so the timing worked out perfectly! Estimated completion date is 12/7. |

Finished production this morning, they began yesterday afternoon. So they're cranking them out fast once the allocations are assigned to customers. I'll post pics in the photos thread once it gets here hopefully next week!
