I don't remember anyone getting the code after 30 days or that the 30 days was published anywhere it was just something that Kief mentioned.

Edit: Looking back at the posts Kief mentioned that teefive said the waiting period was 30 days. Looking at teefive's post from November it says 60 days. So perhaps it was just a typo or an edit.
I was told 60 days by the first rep, and was told 30 by 2 other reps. Certainly a lack of clarity.

I guess we'll find out, I bookmarked my 30 day so I'll try to get the code then. Currently it tells me I'm not eligible (but doesn't indicate when I would be)

I'm passed 30 days and can't get it so I'm thinking the 60 that teefive was first told was correct.

can you please post the link on their site to see when it would be available?

also, can you ask the dealership to 'delay' signing on a car to take delivery if you're within a week or so of some impending rebate to kick in? do they accommodate requests like that?

Links don't work, you have to login and go to their car service (Kief laid out the instructions).

I'm not sure if they would let me delay it... but if it's 60 days, I won't be able to make it happen. PCD only gives you a 2 week window for pickup, I'd need to push PCD by another 2-3 weeks to get this rebate

I found the language about wait times... it is definitely 60 days. Per the website:

Special BMW Incentive offer is valid at any authorized BMW Center in the United States. Cash incentives are not applicable for vehicles leased/financed through BMW Financial Services. Member must take retail delivery January 06, 2020 - January 4, 2021. Incentive offer is subject to change without prior notice. This special incentive is available to Pentagon Federal Credit Union members with greater than 60 days of membership. BMW requires presentation of a photo ID your BMW Manufacturer Certificate with a unique Customer ID and Offer Code. Visit the PenFed Car Buying Service to receive BMW Certificate. One incentive per member, per offer code, per calendar year for new BMW vehicles. Eligible member must be the purchaser. See your authorized BMW Center for complete program details.

I signed up to lease our car, not buy. I was under the impression that the PenFed rebate applied to both purchasers and leasees, but am i wrong about that? That above quote seems to suggest this is a rebate for people who are buying, not leasing?

No, it would apply to both. That disclaimer is referring to the cash incentives that are available when not using BMW Financial.

okay so what does PenFed get out of this? I opened an account and I have the minimum balance in there, and I dont live in Pennsylvania or any of that. If I get the rebate from BMWNA, what does PenFed get?

Nothing unless you decide to finance with them. I guess they could get a kickback from TrueCar if you use their buying service but not sure how that works.

PenFed has nothing to do with Pennsylvania, it is the Pentagon Credit Union.

I don't think the $500 comes out of TrueCar though, and if you were to use TrueCar, you would have a higher price because they wouldn't be able to give you the 10% or more that many of us have gotten. It'd probably be around invoice at most.

No, it definitely does not come out of TrueCar, neither does the incentive for not using the BMW Financing. Both of those are incentives from BMW.

I was answering his question as to why PenFed would offer to participate in this program. They do it to try and generate new customers and any revenue that can be derived from their business.

You did your deal before the PenFed rebate was mentioned didn't you? Since you aren't getting it then you still have the deal that you were happy with to begin with, which was a very good discount if I remember correctly.

Yes but once you know there is a free $500 check it's hard to not think about it

Trust me, you will forget about it the second you get behind the wheel of your new X5. Last December when I was doing my deal the USAA incentive was $500 but in January it was lowered to $250. I never really thought about the extra $250 I didn't get.

Don't fret. There's a good chance your dealer wouldn't honor it as a type j credit anyway. 😛

I'd rather be in your shoes. I'm still waiting on an allocation so my dealer can reorder my car, bc they ordered my original car with the wrong options 😭.

You will love it. The wife and I took a 4,986 mile road trip through 17 states as well as two provinces in Canada and it performed beautifully. The driver assistance systems really make the driving much more relaxing.

Yep... I decided to add the drivers assistance pro package later (paying MSRP... CA wouldn't deal with any discount on the order change) which I think will make the road trip much more tolerable. I honestly don't care about it in the city because it's so congested (not just highway where you can use extended traffic jam assist).

But holy cow... 5K mile road trip
