2021 sdrive40i 0-60 (stock and jb4)

I'm not really a 0-60 guy, but was certainly curious to know what kinda 0-60 this little motor (in a big car) can do. Fuel is 93 octane mixed to e33ish with e85. Running jb4 with EWG connections installed.

Runs done within 5-10 minutes of each other.

Car is a bit too slow do 60-130 runs, so not gonna bother there. However, it's definitely quicker and faster with jb4, as we'd all assume.

This is without doing any setting changes to jb4 after installing EWG connectors, as I just sent my logs to Terry to evaluate.

map 0 (stock) - 5.85, using LC
map 4 (20psi) - 4.67, using LC
map 4 (20psi) - 4.69, using LC
map 4 (20psi) - 4.36, brake boosting

Holy crap Man, that is over a full second improvement 0-60, WOW! This has to be a very noticeable increase in power.
Have you done a 0-60 without the EWG connections?
Thanks for sharing your results.

Definitely a difference in drivability for sure. Not just in LC mode. Fun stuff.

I do not have any runs prior to ewg connectors, unfortunately. Sorry!

I'll be installing the Jb4 on my '21 M50i soon and am wondering about those EWG connections. Burger suggests not connecting them to start with, not sure why. Hoping to see the kind of gains you have realized, a second plus 0-60 is huge.

Little cooler weather...finally. And this was brake boosting...no launch control. This b58 is such a stout motor, for the little guy that it is.

I'd have to agree. Pretty cool. I tried one more time this AM via brake boosting. Built too much boost, spun tires in a meaty sorta way. So far, brake boosting is def quicker with this setup, for a good launch. Will have to figure out how much boost to build, or do some boost by gear work with the JB4 to see if another 10th or two could be achieved.

Dumb question, assume you have already tried it, but have you tried using the Launch Control feature? Is brake boosting better than using that?

Not a dumb question, but the answer is 'yes, i have tried it'. If you look at my first post, I noted some runs were done using 'LC', abbreviation for Launch Control.

Launch control on this car is just not very aggressive. Playing with brake boosting this morning quickly showed me brake boosting will be the winner here.

Very cool. That will be fun. Just ordered a catted pipe this weekend. Looking for a little more sound.

5.8s 0-60 is very slow for this car stock. Whats going on with that? These things have been documented well below 5.3, even car and driver has the 2021 mild hybrid X6 40i at 4.7 and 2020 X5 40i at 5.0

Not sure I can answer that bud. I would start with not quoting car mags, but that's just me.

Just providing real numbers for the community.

What numbers are you getting?

Im still in "break in" as per owner's manual. But my GF's 2015 X6 easily got 5.8s

The weird part is, BMW rates the 2021 X6 at 5.3s and they at notorious for underrating 0-60 times, they usually don't overrate...like ever.

Perhaps the .43% incline affected it?

Possibility of course. Or weather. Or maybe they corrected for da. Could be a number of things. That's why I tested back to back...the improvement provided by the jb4 is easy to see. The starting point is less important to me. This car isn't gonna win any sort of races anyways. Whether it's 5.8 or 4.7, it's still slow.

I just took the x5 home you think I should put the jb4 on now or wait till 500 or so, I got 24 miles. I was going to wait till like 1k for the down pipe or does it even matter.
