Maybe some people are getting bumped due the weather issues in Charleston?

The Factory would have to give those people who won’t accept the cars that were damaged priority on a new build. That is probably causing some issues with pushing orders out.

The video says Columbus Street Terminal so these BMWs were destined for overseas.
Doesn't say when the video was taken though. There is a major winter storm now but that looks like flooding. Charleston did get hit with heavy flooding on Dec 18th. There are articles about Carnival Cruises passengers coming back to find their parked cars flooded. If this video is from then, maybe that is why BMW is pushing deliveries... |

There have been no reports of flooding affecting Spartanburg or the factory so weather should have nothing to do with the reduction in production.

Is it possible that with all those cars damaged, Spartanburg needed to move the Jan/Feb orders out so they can rebuild those cars destined for overseas? Again, not sure when this video was shot so I'm shooting in the dark! |

2024 bmw x5 50e buyback and reorder
We bought a 50e on 9/28/23, 3 days later it was towed back to dealership were it has been in service to this day 1/14/2024 (108 days). BMWNA is buying the 50e back this week. In our case the problem was the BMU(Battery Management Electronic Unit), the replacement unit was ordered from Germany, but even with BMWNA Tech assistance they could not resolve the problem for 3 months. One service tech told me the BMU could be adversely affecting other components of the hybrid battery system.
There is a chance they got another defective BMU or like in this forum it has become a systematic problem that BMWNA wants to fix before sending out any more 50e. I can see BMW not wanting customers to cancel their orders if they admit to a problem they are trying to resolve, so that could be part of the delay too. I checked in my area of Southern California in 19 dealerships, 200 mile radius, there is not one 50e in transit! Our dealership has been outstanding, great customer service, lending us a 2024 EV and always keeping us informed. We have decided to give the 50e another chance since it is a great drive and meets the EV needs for us. The dealership upgraded us to a M Sport at a huge discount as a customer loyalty incentive, our new one ordered on December 7, 2023 is "tentatively" scheduled for March 11-17, 2024. Though our dealership has been great, BMWNA has not been the best experience, until I reminded them about Litigation, "then" they expedited the buyback. I ordered a 50e toward the end of December and am currently showing a “Week 11” build, as well. I sure hope I don’t regret it. I had the same experience you reported in finding almost zero 50e inventory or “in transit” in DFW, Houston, Austin or San Antonio.

Still showing Order Received (111) status. Genius now saying week 13. Was week 10 when I called last week.
Has anyone who was moved to March gone to Production Scheduled (112) status? |

So I placed my order in December and was promised a week 2 build. This was pushed to week 10 at the beginning of this year.
Good news I guess is that I called for an update tonight and Genius is saying Week 10 still. Wonder if anyone has placed an order this month for the 50e and what they've been promised for delivery. |

I'm status 111. My original date production estimate was Week 6 (order on 12/15/23).
I live over 2.5hrs from the closest dealership, so I'm all for a delay if it means that there's an increased chance of fixing at least some of the issues. I'm just hoping that the military incentive stays at the current level by the time it arrives. |

I ordered my 50e on dec 29th, got week 13. Now, it has been bumped to week 14.
As far as I know, there is no 50e producing before week 12, mine was a dealer allocation they had, which I changed to my custom build.

Went to check my order and same thing, now showing 105. Called Genius and now they can't give me a production date at all. This is quite puzzling. Guess no week 10 but they can't even tell me when now. Last edited by johnonroad; 02-01-2024 at 10:28 AM.. |

I just called genius and learned the same thing.
Went from a week 11 build date (they had been confirming this for the last several weeks when I called), and now "no production date scheduled." No information, reccommended I call dealer. This is real bad news. |
