It's best to wait and order the new X5 after the production line glitches are resolved.

Order the new X5 whenever you want... the end product will be no different. If you're worried about first model year issues, that's a different story.

My X5 50i M sport was scheduled for November but since I wanted the B&W pushed into December production, first week. Customer cars are supposedly scheduled for November start but some options not available till later and a newer driver assistance in December as well.

My store has a few in scheduled so far, a total of 33 on order. Funny - looking through them, they actually added a credit for gesture control delete. $190 back in your pocket if you dont want to flail your hands around at your dashboard while driving. (first post on the site by the way, excited to be a part of this community!)

I just put an order in for a 50i today. Can't really wait for the M50i since my current lease is coming to an end but I suspect the 50i will be plenty fast for most since the dynos I've seen show the same engine in the M550i putting out way more power than advertised.

-- Mineral White Metallic
-- Black Vernasca Leather
-- M Sport Package
-- Fineline Stripe Brown High-gloss Wood Trim (was going back and forth between this and the Aluminum Dark Mesh but thought the wood was a safer choice since I couldn't see any of them in person)
-- Premium Package
-- Luxury Seating Package
-- Rear manual window shades

Was considering the laser lights but didn't think $1K was worth the cool factor. Dealer had 2 allocations and I got the last one. Should be a November delivery but we'll see I guess.

Hundreds and hundreds of 2019 BMW X5s are backed up at the vehicle processing centers. BMW says the release date is November 14. However, there's a report circulating that there's a problem with battery cables. That could be the reason for the shipping delay. Mine has been at the Oxnard processing center since Sept. 14 (dealer sold me a HEA vehicle).

Talked to my dealer about this — there is some battery issue but it only effected 2 out of 80 or so of their allocations. Not sure if that is representative of the scope of the issue globally or if my dealer just got lucky.
