Is there any info available on MY2022 updates or changes? I am getting my 2020 replaced by a 2022 and am curious if it would affect the spec...

Considering part shortages, it will probably come equipped like this:

The MY22 specs, at least for the US, should be released within the next month so.

I think LexxM3 's post sums up the changes fairly well.

I hope not, I would be rather pissed off if they eliminate a lot of optional extras...

I was hoping they make laserlights, leather dash, massage seats, soft close doors, ... standard equipment as they cannot source the basic versions

My car is set for delivery in Wk 1 August to the UK. Will this be the last of MY21 or the beginning of MY22

Unsure how it works as we don't use the MY system here in the UK

UK does have MY for cars, you may not hear about it much but it's a BMW thing, not a market thing.

Not sure why you're in a rush to get a hydrogen car though:

Because there's one down the road from me and also down the road from my father in law in Germany so we are largely lucky and it would work, plus Shell has committed to rolling out across the UK

So does the UK change also happen in August September time ?

If it works and you're confident there will be a rollout, rather than a contraction, that's good.

I'd not want to risk anything as niche as that, even if they were close to me though!

The changeover should be around then but there are ongoing component shortages that will no doubt exacerbate the situation anyway.

I won't be too fussed then if mine is delayed and I get the new look, especially if as some forecast the battery density may be improved

I wonder what happens re the trade in value on my car seeing as the delay is their fault ?

As far as Hydrogen, I'm betting it is the way forward over EV purely for ease of filling and that we need to completely re-lay national infrastructure in order to cope with EV demand. Plus in London for example in the rows of terraced houses there are few lamp posts to charge from

Just saw on other posts that the parts shortage is getting worse. For a minute I thought that they might be using this to get us to go to the X7s but I doubt it. Unfortunately I'm going to have to stay with my Lexus a lot longer than I want. I miss my X3 so much I was looking forward to an X5. I won't spend 80k and not get core options like an M Sport package or multi-contour seats. I can do without the soft close doors, but no acoustic glass or nicer stereo? No way!!! By the way. I would think that options like the heated/cooled cup holder would or should be plug and play. Wiring should already be there, at least you would think so. Cheaper to make one harness versus 2 or 3. Just a thought. That's what makes us enthusiasts…. Figuring things out.

My thoughts as well. I held off on an X5 when they first came out (2019) as I'm not normally an early adopter, bathtub failure curve and all that. Then I held off from a 2020 while I watched and learned from this forum and still saw plenty of issues, though some of the 2019 issues were starting to be addressed but the rear seat wrinkles and a few other issues kept me at bay and my garage was full anyway, no where to put another car. Then the pandemic hit and we were in lockdown, Spartanburg closed and the wait was out of my hands at that point. Sold my X3 in prep for buying an X5 but even if I did buy one, it would just be sitting in my garage burning its warranty and going nowhere. Then Spartanburg reopened but Tartufo disappeared. Now that lockdowns are over, virus rates have significantly dropped and we are ready to hit the road, I no longer have a travel car and like you, I'm not going to buy one without the options I want, which, at the moment are not available. Go figure!

Works in NY, not so much in the Prairie where it's 200 miles to the grocery store....

Yeah but in the Prairie isn't the grocery store just called "outside"?

Just noticed on the Wiki page of the G05 that the xDrive40i B58 engine had a power downgrade from 12/2020 onwards. Anyone know the reason for that?

Not true as far as I know since it was the opposite, it gained HP with the mild hybrid.
