Not sure where you come up with that. Along the East Coast be very glad to get msrp from a dealer. Zero discounts. Even brokers are being squeezed on MY22's.
You can also get 5% or more on the East Coast.

I came up with it based on 2-3 brokers that are advertising pricing. I used one of those brokers and received 10% pre incentives in early June on a x5 40i. He's currently at 7.25% for a 2022 x5 50M build.

Did you get 10% for MY21?

Correct it was a my21. He's currently at 8.25% I think for my22.

On the west coast 2021s are going above MSRP and no discount for 2022 orders. Wish I was on the east coast!

I see a few brokers in the East offering a range of 4-8.25% off x5s currently.

New builds - tier 1 credit

That is called marketing. The 8.25% discount will be few and far between. You have to keep in mind that the overwhelming majority of deals are not reported here or by brokers. Even in good times the average discount is only around 4% even though folks here routinely report 10%.

This is true. The brokers I spoke with usually only had 1 build slot at the highest % and then many were at MSRP. It's highly variable.

I spent over a month going back and forth with local dealers to get and it was not easy. The main reason I kept at it was I knew the '22 changeover was happening shortly, so I didn't see the point in getting a '21 without a massive discount, so I had time on my side. I've been burned a few times buying closeout cars without big discounts and getting hit at trade in with a technically 1 year older car.

No idea if I could replicate my discount again in the near term, the dealer closest to me would not move off MSRP and most others were at best 2-3% after a week of exchanging emails.

It could be marketing. I'm just going off my experience using the broker. He also has 100s of reviews. Most people don't qualify for the deals and that is why they fall through.

I was skeptical at first but broker/dealer held up the deal which was almost 14% off with Incentives. It can't hurt to reach out and try a few brokers if you're having trouble securing a deal

Ordered our new 2022 X5e45 in June. 8.3% off MSRP here in WI. That was what the dealer said he could do before I had to haggle. Took the deal and will receive any incentives. Looks now like $750 loyalty. Plus $7500 tax credit. We are trading in my wife’s 2018 X5 for the 22 e45 version. Should receive the new one the 1st or 2nd week of August. End of production date is 08/07.

That's super quick. What is the production status of your car now?

Good question. I just got the production # today. Called the BMW number and it stated it is scheduled to be done 08/07 as I was told by my SA.

What’s the best way to get actual data? I’ve heard the call in number is not necessarily accurate.

I was initially told that it wouldn’t be til the end on August. However, when I ordered the dealer said he had one ready to be in queue and would substitute my build for his.

You can track it on https://mygarage.bmwusa.com/ with your production number.

My status is "SCHEDULED FOR PRODUCTION".

BTW, 8.3% off for a MY22 is super high, many are paying MSRP

Calling them is the most accurate way to get the information but make sure you hit zero to talk to a live person. The automated option will give the same info as the tracking in MyGarage.

Is the 8.3% before incentives or including everything? I could see if you had loyalty and military getting there.

MikeN was the poster who got 8.3% off and that was just dealer discount before any incentives he said. Two things to keep in mind, the deal was done in June and he has a trade-in so depending on how the negotiations were done that number may not be a true discount %.

The 8.3% off MSRP was prior to negotiating the trade. I will get any incentives which may be only Loyalty at this time. Hope that helps.

New to the forum here. Any recommendations on dealers in NJ? My X2 lease is ending in 1 month, and I have not had much luck with getting the right X5 at the right price.
Thanks in advance

If in NNJ, try Paul Miller BMW in Wayne or the dealerships in Morristown or Ramsey.
