Another 45e incoming!

Current Build Status:

9/21 = Submitted order, prod code generated, prod week confirmed as 43/Oct 17
9/29 = Scheduled for Production
10/11 = Production Begins
10/22 = Entering Assembly Line
10/23 = Quality Check
10/23 = Final Assembly
10/23 = Awaiting Carrier Assignment
10/25 = Dispatched from Factory
11/12 (Richmond)= At Port
10/25-10/31 (to KC); 11/17 (from Richmond) = In Transit
11/18 = At the dealership
#/## = Delivery

My spec sheet:

2022 X5 xDrive45e
M Sport
Phytonic Blue Metallic
20" M Star-spoke bi-color wheels, style 740M with all-season run-flat tires

Interior
Coffee Vernasca Leather
Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Finish Wood Trim

Options
Parking Assistance Package
Premium Package
M Sport Brakes with Blue Calipers
4-zone automatic climate control
Extended Shadowline Trim
Rear manual side window shades
Trailer Hitch

I'm at $72,600. Build Code EKPXY412

As others have posted, I had to show great restraint and really think about exactly what options are useful versus what's nice to have. I really wanted to keep it under $75.

I'm still wavering on the interior trim. Personally I like the wood trims, but I feel like it doesn't fit with the character of the M Sport. Because this will be a family car I've, settled in base leather for cleaning reasons.

I'm still researching other tech features... Thoughts? Comments?
Anyone received a decent MSRP discount? I was offered a $1k with financing.

And yes, I thought hard and decided yes I will cut up the pretty bumper for an visually off-center factory hitch.. Retroactively installing a hitch was prohibitedly expensive when I try to install it on my E70 35d

I just picked up my order this weekend! I went with tetragon trim but would only option it with black seats. Also I would consider adding the driving package, I love it and it works great. I use it almost daily.

Good choice in extended shadowline as it looks way more bada$$. I would get rid of the climate package unless you need rear heated seats. You already get 4 zone climate control and can add heated steering wheel for $250

yeah, I was thinking the same thing. My kids wouldn't use it for a while as they're boosters for a few more years. 4 Zone is all that's needed really.

I value the Active Driving Assist Pro part of the Driving Package quite a bit, not not $1700 worth to me though.

Took a harder look at the two wood choices and Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Finish Wood Trim is the one!

I am with you that most of the executive package is gimmicky.

I ended up doing it for the laser lights.

They're significantly better than the standard LED projectors in my opinion.

See the analysis from IIHS:

https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle...-door-suv/2021

The laser lights have significantly better high beams and produce way less glare.

I drive enough in country roads that it helped get me over the edge to add the package (looking cooler etc didn't hurt though).

Nice build - I passed over the Executive package as well. Just not enough value there without the HK sound option.

Exec package; laser lights and HUD are worth it - both great safety features
Antracite goes better with coffee interior, too bad they don't have fineline brown
Luxury seating for the multi-contour seats

Going to agree w/ the multi-contour seats recommendation. The Merino + Multi-contour seats are fantastic, I prefer them over the Volvo & Benz. $1k for the Merino if you have MSport already is one of the better deals I've seen in this segment. Mercedes charges $3k for black Nappa, $4.5k for Tartufo.

Definitely worth some consideration.

The multi-contour seat was something I was debating hard about last night.
Are those seats still the same physical style as sports seats, just different features? (Padding, adjustment, massage, etc)? I know it's purely aesthetics, but I prefer to keep the sport seat style over comfort. I do drive a GT3 after all....

I might just add it. I'm adding all my incentives and discounts together and I'm able to stack $12k of rebates, I earned it... 😂

Multi contour with Vernasca is the same seat design, but adds the additional adjustments. Jumping to merino changes the seat to the quilted design.

I chose to stick with Vernasca and add multi contour. The seating options add up quick.

Now I'm debating if I should remove premium. I had HUD on M6 and I barely used it. I found it more obstructive to my view. The only feature I used on HUD was navigation, which allows me to keep my eyes on the road. However, digital gauge now has navigation too.

So basically have to figure out if just gesture control is worth it. I aware that HUD sought after by 2nd hand buyers.

Gesture control is a complete gimmick IMO. It's a party trick you show your friends when you first get the car and never use it again. I would not get the Premium Package just for that.

Yep, tried it once on a loaner. Wasn't intuitive and felt like I would spend more time learning it than using it.

HUD... Were there any major improvements on it since NBT idrive?

The main evolution with the HUD is it seems to be getting bigger. I'm not sure if I'm aware of any major functionality improvements throughout the years. So if you find it distracting, you probably won't like it.

Glad I could be of assistance Just trying to give people objective advice. Most of the discussion makes it seem like every feature is a must-have, "I'll never drive another car without x feature" when for some people, it just doesn't make sense to check every box.

Hmm, after taking away premium package, I can add multi-contour seats and still come in slightly cheaper than my previous MSRP

I can’t remember but I had to add premium package to add other things. It was required.

Also how are you getting $12k rebates in this market? That’s incredible!!

Wow, just like that! Got my MSRP discount I wanted. Icing on the cake is that a prior order (or dealer order) fell out, and they slotted me right in for Week 43 Oct 17 production.

I called Genius and only concern is they show Aluminum Mesh and I wanted Poplar. Confusingly, MyGarage tracker doesn't show any trim!

I contacted the dealer to double check trim is correct, apparently got plenty of time to get it corrected!
