New to BMW. Ordered a 45e

Hi. I'm new here and new to BMW. My wife has been an owner of an M3 since 2017 and convinced me to join up. My dealer had some allocations so I put in an order for a 45e. Salesman said give it 10 weeks. Here's my build summary. I was a little hesitant with the white interior but went with it. Let me know what you think.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations, hopefully the wait won't be too bad. Good luck, enjoy and be safe.

Like you, my wife was the first to own (3- & 5-series since 2008). it was a black X5 G05 M Sport that passed us on the road one day that finally convinced me to join her. (I also got the 45e.)

Congrats on your first bimmer!

Same exact options as mine but did Manhattan green on black. Mine went into production late last week. Was told typically 6-8 weeks for delivery date

It'll be great! If you haven't already, make sure you get the production number from the dealer and then verify your config on the mygarage.bmwusa.com site. You can also ask your dealer for your specific build week and/or call the genius 1800 to get it once you have the production number.

Thanks. Agent said he'd email me the production number in a week or so but that was 2 weeks ago when I ordered. I'll call him up for it.

Could be just an oversight ... or could also mean he/she doesn't actually have an allocation (or one he wants you to have yet)

I think with vernasca leather you'll be fine with white, it's well protected. But you could apply a SiO2 coating if you want to be safe. I used that on the white parts of my leather and haven't had any dye transfer.

That's what I'm worried about.

Hmmm. I gotta look for some of that. White/white isn't a common combo but it looks clean.

I think it'd be great!

I had opal white merino for 3 years and it was fine - and that was in a convertible where I had the top down 90% of the time and was constantly mopping out dust.

I will say, to taek's point, a 2nd coating can help, even a liquid surface protectant like meguires or similar (IMO, especially with vernasca you don't need fancy leather products, you use any LSP). I didn't use one, but I don't wear a lot of jeans, though for about 2 months I was wearing black jeans and then I notice some slight transfer. It cleaned off with a damp warm MF.

Beautiful build!

I do think you should spring for the MultiContour seats (aka Luxury Seating Package). I've had them in all of my other BMWs, and a version of them in a 2006 Range Rover Supercharged--as BMW owned Land Rover when that generation of Range Rover was developed.

The MultiContour seats are delightful, and adjust every which way. The articulating backrest is particularly useful. Plus, the ones in the G05 are heated, ventilated and massaging.

You can save some money by adding multi contour on its own, that'll give you the comfort seats. It's really easy to rack up thousands in seating options.

MultiContour

I ordered Luxury Seating Package, but my build only shows multicontour seats when I go into my build. Is that normal?

Would need to see your actual build sheet.

That's weird. I also ordered the Luxury Seating Package, and mine actually has it as a dropdown (see picture). I'd confirm with your salesperson that the car actually has the Luxury Seating Package (and do it quickly, because once it enters production, it's almost impossible to change anything), and not just the a-la-carte Multi-Contour seats. Because yours is listed like it's just the separate Multi-Contour seats.

My features specifically state Luxury Seating Package like kplatinum does (not just multi contour seats)

Tracking in MyBMW

I have been having trouble tracking my build in MyBMW. I can log in, enter my build code and see the progress of my build. However, after I logout, when I log back in my vehicle has disappeared. Does anyone know why this would happen? I'm guessing it is a setting on my cookies tracking or security setting.

The site is janky, just click on "my vehicles" and it'll restart from the beginning

Thank you both! Confirming with my SA, who has been a bit MIA since order went in, but we shall see.

Which dealer are you using?
My sales guy said they have allocation, and now 3 weeks later and nothing.
He said there's a hold on assigning allocations because of option changes, but I think that's probably BS.

I need another dealer to talk too.
