Great result from Ceramic Coating!

after did a coating by myself last week. the result is amazing. first I'm not sure I can do this by myself. But after watch lots of "How to VDO" so I decided to do this by my self. It took me 2 days from wash, prep and coating with Gtechniq CSL & EXO (2 layers) . also, I did a leather coating as well. now I can wear jeans again when driving this Ivory interiors.

Looks very nice. Is your car lowered? Assuming that's air suspension?

Car looks amazing. Phytonic is a great color especially in the sunlight. Had mine ceramic coated as well. Best part is how easy it is to clean it. Dirt just falls off the car.

Nice job! You can see the gloss factor even in the photos. Must look even better in real life. What steps were involved in the prep work? I'd like to try doing it myself someday but 1. i need a driveway (currently live in a high rise condo) and 2. i have no experience with polishing tools.

I ceramic coated my wheels and it made a big difference in the amount of dust that accumulated on the surface. M sport brakes generate a lot of dust.

so this is a brand new car. Before I pick-up at dealer. I told them only hand wash only. So I have a very minimum swirls and scratches. But I do a paint correction anyway.

using a polishing tool is not that difficult. you can practice with a tasting panel and make sure get a good quality machine and pad.

these are the steps I did.

1. wash car with good shampoo
2. clay bar the whole car with nano skin
3. rinse a car and dry with car dryer so it is no contact for drying
4. paint correction with Sonax Perfect finished
5. wipe down whole car with Gtechniq panel wipe (Removes all polish residues for great bonding with ceramic coating )
6. apply Crystal serum light ( small 2'x2' section at a time, and use 3 microfiber towel method ) get rid of 3 towels every 2 panels.
7. wait for 4 hours for great bonding
8. apply EXO ( small 2'x2' section at a time, and use 3 microfiber towel method ) get rid of 3 towels every 2 panels.working great with all black plastic from bumper trims.
9. apply a second layer of EXO after 4 hours and let it cure in the garage for 12 hours.
10. apply C5 on all wheels
11. apply Gtechniq C2V3 on everything including glass, trim, plastic.

I spend a total of 2 days from start to finish. I know I a little over kill on this. But I am feel great for the result and saving money but most important is I am bonding to my car.

total $$$ spent on product $280
total $$ spent on Labor 1 bottle of Caymus Cabernet

If I take to a certified Gtechniq with same application $$$$ 1,800 to $2,000

like I said it is about bonding to my car...

it is very interesting after I coated her. the color seem to be darker when she is under the sun. and it is almost like Tanzanite Blue at night.
these ceramic coating must change the reflection of the paint!

Yes agreed. Ceramic certainly gives a new look to the paint. Gave Black Sapphire a smoky grayish tone in certain light, never saw those shades from the paint before ceramic.

Which leather product did you use? Thinking about using CarPro leather coating when mine comes in.

I used car pro and love it. It made leather little softer and I can wearing Jeans now. Easy todo by yourself.

Thanks. Was it easy to apply and did it change the luster (shinier or more matte)of the leather?

Very easy, make sure to follow instructions and clean it well. Make sure have a good prep. Not shinny at all. Not shinny at all. It keep the texture of a brand new leather seat feel!
